The Late Doc Legume had sent many DCMA's to ImageFAP and other sites that abuse our copyright,  Most will remove the images withing 24-72 hours if the correct form is issued.  BUT  they do nothing to the offending parties  even if they are repeat offenders. They could easily ban them by stating they posted renderotica art  that is listed in their own TOS but they do not.   That is where the real problem lies.

But if we find out who the posters sre and Ban their UR:s from outr site it will be a step in the right direction.

Unless copyright is turned over to another party the Artist holds copyright from the moment the work is fixed to a tangible form. For photography it means the moment the shutter clicks, for 3D Render Artists it would be when the scene is finished rendering. 

Exceptions being work created under a Work for Hire basis, or contract work if the contract explicitly states that the company owns all copyrights, trademarks, etc. (Though with contracted works there have been cases brought before the courts with rulings on both sides of the issue so it is a bit of a mess)

Under the Berne Convention all signatory countries recognize copyrights held by the citizens of all other parties to the convention. So basically copyright laws are seen as valid in 177 countries. The issue is those handful of Nations that are not Berne Signatories or those individuals that just flat out ignore copyright laws. A lot of the art thieves and pirates learn quickly which countries act as safe harbors and will host their sites within those countries. And if the country is not a Berne Signatory then they have no obligation to recognize the copyrights of others.

Most countries that have copyright laws have agreed that it does not require monetary gain for it to be considered infringement. Simply posting works of which you are not the copyright holder, is an infringement.   

The major problem is legally it is up to the artist to defend their copyrights. Since a lot of artists use their time working on new art, it limits time we can send out DMCA Takedown notices if needed. Also if the sites hosting the infringement ignores the takedown notice, or are hosted in a safe harbor country. Then the only options are to bring a court case (which a lot of artists don't really have the money to do) or ignore the infringement.

Doc, rest his soul, has helped many within the Renderotica community and he will be missed.

As mentioned above, many countries abide by the rules of copyright,  but some ignore them. Especially some sites in Russia.  For me to fight for one of my comics would mean hiring a lawyer a in that country to work on my behalf and they may be just as shady as the website that is pirating the art.

All I can say is for comic artist to place their "pen name" on every page, and every so often place a disclaimer such as "posting any or part of this comic without express permission is forbidden"

Some first will crop a cover and forgo posting the disclaimer pages, but if every ten pages has some sort of disclaimer posted where cropping hurts the image, will make it harder for pirates to display.

Some of my art is still out there,  a few fragments or chapters of one story, or maybe a short story, But a few full comics exist out there on the web and I figure the work involved to get it removed is futile because these sites are Russian owned. Not to mention I did not follow the practices O mentioned above back then.

However, with that said.  Recent publications of mine are harder to find at free sites as I go after them or report them to Renderotica as they have exclusive rights to this site in regards to all things BDSM related.

My Transgender Art is posted elsewhere with the exception of 2 stories I share at both sites,

Be mindful enough to search for your items with a casual search.. and make it harder for pirates to steal and crop your work. Please report products and art you know are exclusive to Renderotica.

fir certain sites that abide to Copyright DCMA's  it only take a few minutes of ones time.  especially if you have template already made. Then it's just a matter of copy and past the offending links and re-date the template and send it off.

what gets me is that sometimes I get a reply asking if I really want my work removed..  They say the poster is paying tribute to my art by posting it.

A tribute is one or two pages with links pointing to where a person can buy the comic, Not posting it for free.  I then say get it off the site and they do.

Another thing you can do for hardliners is that if they have some sort of download program to grab a whole PDF comic,  You can go after those sites so that if a site does not comply and someone try;s to use the download service they get a 404 error page.

I found one site that would download a comic onto a DVD and ship the DVD to you. and all you had to do was send the payment to their PAY PAL account.   I sent PAP PAL a copy of the sites purchase page and withing hours the site had no way to collect money and it's quite possible PAY PAL held onto their funds for violation of their TOS in regards to Porn

Little victories here and they can make you think you are gaining the upper hand but you need to keep a watchful eye and so I check on a few sites once or twice a week, Just in case.  I also look out for certain artist I know and if I see it,  I give them a nootice or In renderotica case  I copy the link and send it off to [email protected]

Thing is there are so many comic artist posting at renderotica and it's hard to know who who's especially when I do not see any renderotica Logo

The site I am referring to in Russia boldly claims they will not honor any DCMA's 

They do not use download sites,  you can download hundreds of comics from places like DO FANTASY, and Our Renderotica.  As long as you are willing to open and copy each and every page one by one in JPG format.

If you want to become a Premium Member all you have to do is buy a comic and submit it to them, then you get to download comics in bulk via PDF format.

This site is huge and their servers are in Russia so you cannot attack them 

Doc had some success against them but not enough to stop them hosting many Renderotica Comics

Thanks for the link    It's ironic that as this thread gets new life,  someone posted some of my work at A site I monitor  so I had to dig up my old DCMA template and copy and past the links and send it off to the host site.. 

They have renderotica on their do not submit art by   but somehow  my name got removed.. The site has been clean for almost a year but if I do not nip it in the bud if will begin to crop up elsewhere..  It's monlu one comic and I nelieve a short story at that but still   my name is on the damn thing

On the plus side this place honors DCMA's it just takes 24-72 hours
