Dead of Night Halloween Render Contest

Werewolves hunt, ghouls lurk, trolls and goblins roam the streets, and dark spirits long to finally possess unwilling hosts. All looking to indulge in the carnal desires of trembling flesh under the midnight moon.

When the night casts its darkest shadows hiding ghastly terrors and gruesome delights, it must be All Hallows’ Eve deep in the Dead of Night.

Renderotica invites you to share your most heart-stopping fears and most lurid nightmares by creating and entering your original artwork into our annual Halloween Render Contest – October 6 to November 3, 2023

Upload your image using the Gallery Submissions link in your Account menu. Follow the instructions for uploading your image and add to the Contest Gallery "2023 Halloween Contest" under the Categories tab.

Watch the Contest Gallery as Submissions come in and see the amazing creations by other artists. Be sure to bookmark the gallery and check back often!

Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place, as well as two honorable mention prizes, as determined by the panel of judges described below. These prizes will consist of the following: 

FIRST PLACE:  $150 Store Credit + 3,000 Points*  Plus 1 Month Premier Advantage**

SECOND PLACE:  $100 Store Credit + 2,000 Points*  Plus 1 Month Premier Advantage**

THIRD PLACE:  $50 Store Credit + 1,000 Points*  Plus 1 Month Premier Advantage**

HONOURABLE MENTIONS:
Two honourable mention prizes include 500 Points* each.

1. All entries posted into the Contest Gallery must adhere to Renderotica’s Community Policies and Terms of Service.
2. Participants enter the Contest by posting their Submissions into the specified Contest Gallery.
3. Participants are allowed to submit a maximum of TWO (2) ENTRIES. Participants who submit more than two entries, including those who submit under more than one username, will have all entries disqualified and removed from the Contest Gallery.
4. Submission requirements:
   1. All Submissions must adhere to the Contest Theme.
   2. Submissions can be of any media and must be the original work created by the contest participant.
   3. AI generated Submissions WILL NOT be considered for prizes as Renderotica's Render Contests are to reward participant skills in creativity, technical ability, posing, material use, lighting and composition.
   4. Submissions must be new and may not be presently posted in any other gallery.
   5. Image size restrictions are the same as the main gallery.
5. The contest shall begin on Friday, October 6th 2023 and shall end at approximately 11:59 p.m. (EST) on Friday, November 3th, 2023. All times will be Eastern Standard Time (UTC-05:00).
   
   The contest will be officially opened and closed with opening and closing images in the Contest Gallery posted by the Community Manager. Submissions posted prior to the Opening Post or after the Closing Post will not be considered for the contest and will be moved to the main community gallery our contest moderators.
6. Prizes will be awarded on the merit of individual entries, but no single Participant shall be selected for more than one winning place (either First, Second, Third or Honorable Mentions).
7. Prize winners will be announced on or before Friday, November 17th, 2023 in a General Discussions Forum thread and blog post on Renderotica.com. In addition, prize winners may also be listed in our email newsletter. All prizes will be awarded to the winners’ accounts within 72 hours of the announcement and may also be contacted by Private Message on Renderotica or by direct email.
8. This contest is not open to the judges, or the administrators or moderators of Renderotica or any individual offering any prizes used for the contest.

The contest will be judged by a panel of judges selected by Renderotica. All judges’ decisions regarding entry deletions, winner status, and all other aspects of this contest are final and not open to debate or negotiation. Judges will decide on the winners based on (in no particular order):

Adherence to the theme
Composition
Posing
Lighting/Materials

1. Notification of winners and prizes will be by posted in the General Discussions Forum on or before  Friday, November 17th, 2023 by midnight, EST as well as a mini-thread in the Contest Forum and blog entry.
2. Any contest announcements or updates will be posted on this Contest page. It is the responsibility of all contestants to stay updated of Contest Rules and status.
3. Prizes will be awarded within 72 hours of the winners being announced.
4. Store Credit prizes can only be redeemed for purchases through CGbytes.com or Renderotique.com which are available through Renderotica’s Affiliate catalogue.
5. Prizes may not be substituted.
6. Prizes may not be transferred to any other person.
