Q) what brought you into 3D?
I always wanted to make erotic artwork and animations, but I have absolutely no drawing skill. I heard about a reasonably priced 3D artist/animation program called Poser which was about to upgrade to Poser 6, bought it, and I was hooked.
Q) How did you choose your nickname?
My wife and I acquired a kitten who was comically fierce, all teeth and claws, but thankfully only backed by a kitten's strength. After extracting her from my ankle for like the 50th time, I gave her the nickname Strong Fang. When the first Renderotica site needed to be reconstituted, I decided to re-invent myself, complete with a new kinder and gentler portfolio and a new nickname. Since I was creating a new user ID and extracting Strong Fang from my wrist simultaneously, I decided to use StrongFang as my new nickname. I was aiming for a sometimes humorous, sometimes fierce, and always non-lethal portfolio, and hope I succeeded.
Q) How long have you been creating your artwork?
Since Poser 6's debut in 2005.
Q) what are the specs of your render machine?
I am using a Hewlett-Packard HPE-150t with eight i7 CPU 860s running at 2.8 GHz (each) with 12 GB of installed system RAM. I run a 64-bit Windows 7 operating system. It takes me about 8 hours to render about 10 seconds (300 frames) worth of 1280 by 760 pixel high definition video. Rendering time of course varies quite a bit with how much facial close-up time is involved.
Q)Poser or Daz Studio and why?
I am currently using PoserPro 2014. I have never used any 3D graphics program other than Poser. I produce primarily animations. It took me several years to become familiar enough with Poser's animation capabilities through its various upgrades to produce what I consider acceptable quality animations. I shudder to think how much time I would have to re-invest in Daz Studio to reach the same level of capability.
Q) What renderer do you use? (Stock Poser or Daz or 3rd party) And what lead you to use it?
I use the stock Poser Firefly renderer. I have tried a couple of other renderers, and they probably do a better job of rendering individual images. But for animations, I really want to get my 10 seconds of video rendered overnight. The ultra high quality available from other renderers doesn't really seem to contribute much to the quality of the animations.
Q) what is your favorite work you’ve created? (provide a link OR include an image named “fav”)
Check out these animations by clicking the link under each image.

Q) Is there any image you’ve made that you wish you didn’t? why?
Most of the early images I posted to the previous site were not very well done and their content pandered too much to my darker side. They are better left in the bit bucket of history
Q) What is your favorite ‘style’ of art to create?
Animations!
Q) What’s been your favorite Weekend Rally over the past few years and why?
The New Year's rallies are my favorite. Something about starting over fresh always catches my interest.
Q) What is your favorite style to create and why?
Damsels in distress are my favorites. I just love the old horror movies and action-adventure flicks.
Q) Any chance “Skully” will relapse and make a return?
Well, I hadn't thought of it until you asked, but sure, why not. She was a fun ride.

Q)) Out of all the various art mediums why 3D?
It's the only one I have any talent for at all.
Q) What are your plans for the future?
I want to finish out Agent Foxx as an animated series. The idea is for her to escape the shark tank, fight off the henchwenches, and defeat Dr. Mordechai permanently. I'd also like to finish the gypsy dances losing most of her clothing along the way.
Q) who are your favorite artists other than yourself?
Of the animators:
Dezmondel. His animations are masterful. I am in awe of his work.
Chimera46: How can you not love elves in peril?
Erogenesis: His Lali animations are very nicely done. I think I saw some kidding around about his X-Box based motion capture equipment, but that is definitely the wave of the future.
Looper69. His interrogation series was superb and he animated part of it very well indeed.
Vendor: Stimuli. I have a lot of his animated sequences. They are easy to work with and look very good.
Q) If someone reading this wants to start creating their own artwork what words of advice would you give them?
In no particular order:
-
Keep your scenes short. 60-120 frames (2-4 seconds) is plenty per clip.
-
Watch TV and movies carefully to see how their directors cut clips together to make a single scene using closeups, pan, zoom, and different camera angles.
-
Always keep your camera moving, if just slightly.
-
There are a number of free or very cheap motion capture animation sets to help roughly position your characters before making final position adjustments.
Q) Do you have a job outside of 3D or do you consider this your full time occupation?
I am retired now, so I have no full time occupation.
Q) Speech time! any final words you have for your, fans and fellow 3D community?
I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to view the large size versions of my work. Special thanks to those who rate and comment on it.
