Cat O Nine Tails

Used by the British Royal Navy, the original Cat O’ Nine was made from rope. These modern versions are made with woven leather handles and knotted cord tails.
The first design features a solid handle with nine cord tails, each independently rigged and tipped with a knot to make the whip extra ‘stingy’.
The second design has the same nine rigged tails but with a longer, flexible handle (also rigged) for an even harsher strike, and is often referred to as a ‘Flexi Cat’.
