1) what brought you into 3D?
I read a review of the first version of Bryce, bought a copy and started playing around. That was a very long time ago.
2) How did you choose your nickname?
The 'K' stands for Khajuraho, an Indian city where the walls of the temples are covered with erotic sculptures showing an amazing range of different sexual acts.
3) How long have you been creating your artwork?
More than two decades.
4) Where do you draw your inspirations from?
My own imagination, mostly.
5) what are the specs of your render machine?
It's a MacBook Pro with 16GB of memory, 2.8GHz Intel Core i7.
6) Poser or Daz Studio and why?
I actually use DAZ Carrara for most of my images, although I often pose figures in DAZ Studio and then import them to Carrara. A few of my images are made in DAZ Studio, and I've played about with Poser, but I usually end up going back to Carrara.
Why? Because it's the program I know best. The trick to getting a good image is mostly down to lighting, and I have a better idea of how to light images in Carrara and get the effect I want than in Studio or Poser. I haven't really mastered lighting in Studio or Poser yet. That's probably just laziness on my part. I've seen people produce amazing work with Studio and Poser, so I know it can be done.
I do like the rather 'painted' look that the Carrara renderer produces; it's a bit different from the look that you get from Studio or Poser's built-in renderers.
7) What renderer do you use? (Stock Poser or Daz or 3rd party) And what lead you to use it?
I use the stock renderer in Carrara. With DAZ Studio, I sometimes use the Reality plugin to send renders to the LuxRender unbiased renderer. Again, I found it easier to get results that I liked from Reality/LuxRender than the built-in Firefly renderer in DAZ Studio.
8) what is your favorite work you’ve created?
I think it might be
It reminds me a bit of an Edward Hopper painting.

9) Is there any image you’ve made that you wish you didn’t? why?
The ones I really wish I hadn't made, I don't post. I have a few online that I don't think are very good, mostly because I didn't get the lighting right.
10) How did you come up with “A problem of scale”
"A problem of scale" was made for the "Alien Invasion" contest. For some reason, I thought of Joe Rosenthal's famous picture of Marines raising the flag on Iwo Jima, and decided to try to reproduce that, but with little green men. And then I had the idea that the little green men might be _really_ little green men, and everything followed from there.
The image was rendered using Reality, and makes use of the depth-of-field controls to focus attention on the foreground.
11) Do you have a favorite “theme” when you create renders?
I seem to keep coming back to group sex scenes, sometimes with some light bondage thrown in. The female protagonists are often somewhat outnumbered by their gentleman friends, but in my imagination they're generally willing or enthusiastic participants in whatever's going on. And however dire their situation appears, they always come out safe and satisfied at the end of it all.
12) Out of all the various art mediums why 3D?
I have no talent with other art mediums (except possibly photography). 3D software lets me do what I couldn't do any other way.
13) What are your plans for the future?
More of the same. Maybe I'll try to actually finish one of the many series that I've begun and then abandoned after 3 or 4 images.
14) who are your favorite artists other than yourself?
There are so many great artists on Renderotica, but some I particularly like include KristinF, rotanev, belzaph, and the_merovingian.
15) If someone reading this wants to start creating their own artwork what words of advice would you give them?
Lighting and composition are the key to great images. To understand composition, look at paintings and photographs to see how other artists do it. The best way to learn lighting is by experimentation. Or so they tell me. I'm still learning that part.
16) Do you have a job outside of 3D or do you consider this your full time occupation?
I have a day job. 3D is just a hobby.
17) Speech time! any final words you have for your fans and fellow 3D community?
I'd like to thank the Academy ...
Sorry. No, no final words. Except a 'thank you' to Renderotica for providing a platform, and a 'thank you' to everyone who has viewed, rated or commented on my images.
