My (premier) gallery: http://renderotica.com/artists/FantasyErotic/Gallery.aspx
1) what brought you into 3D artwork?
I guess it's my passion for fantasy related stuff like elves and vampire and so on.
It's simply easier to create art featuring these creatures in 3D than for example in photography.
2) How did you choose your nickname or alias?
Well, Dionysos is the god of ritual madness and ecstasy in Greek mythology. It seemed to fit quiet well what I' doing.
FantasyErotic combines everything my art is about. It's always fantasy, not matter if there are elves in the scenes or some female native americans or some everyday scene with some rougher sex.
It's always fantasy and never a political statement or something I would support in real life.
3) How long have you been creating your 3D artwork/content?
About 3 years now.
I tried it once many years ago, but I could not get the quality in my renders as I wanted. When the Reality plugin for DAZ Studio was released it changed.
Suddenly I could get the quality I was always dreaming about...
4) Where do you draw your inspirations from?
I like all the fantasy stuff, so this is one big inspiration source. One other thing is the fetish and bdsm lifestyle which I like very much as well.
5) what are the specs of your render/development machine?
I've got an Intel i7 quad-core with 16 GB RAM
6) Out of all the various art mediums why 3D?
3D gives me all the opportunities to create what I want. I don't have to take care of anyone's feelings for example. My 3D models will always do what I want without disagreement.
I can use all kind of lights to create my scene and do not have to buy big softboxes and lots of flashes to create the mood I want.
3D is "simple" and I can use it whenever I want.
7) What are your plans for the future?
I'm planning some more graphic novels and I want to focus more on some characters I created like Saroyee or Miranda Odoto.
8) who are your favorite artists other than yourself?
I like the stuff from Erogenesis (he did a great job with Lali's Bits btw) and from Blackader
9) If someone reading this wants to start creating their own artwork what words of advice would you give them?
The most important thing is to learn the basic of how to light a scene and what a good image composition looks like. This is completely independent from 3D and all the photographic tutorials are helpful here.
That's in my opinion the crucial thing for good artwork.
10) Do you have a job outside of 3D or do you consider this your full time occupation?
Yes, I have a normal daytime job in the big world of IT business.
11) With all the recent advancements in 3D technology what excites you the most? What do you dread the most?
I'm really happy about the improvements in Luxrender. It's my favorite render engine and the whole community is really doing a great job in making it better and better.
What I don't like in the moment is that there is no replacement for V4 which works in DAZ Studio and Poser. I hope that there will be one again in the near future.
