Renderotica: Could you give us a little background information about yourself?
Edotions: My name is Ed. I'm 34 years old. Just an average guy with an average job with a simple life. I live on my own, love to play games, run outdoors / parkour (or freerunning). When I'm not doing either one of those, I'm usually sitting in front of my computer creating fantasy artwork or hentai.
Renderotica: How did you get started in 3D Art and what influences did you have that led you to the style of art that you do?
Edotions: I got into 3-D artwork around 2012 when I was introduced to DAZ Studio. Wanted to find a 3-D program to make my art pieces on paper and inside my mind come true. At the time I didn't have the funds to buy things, so I worked off of what I could create for free. I later came across Blender and Maya and learned how to use those programs to create models and things from scratch through various tutorials.
Renderotica: If someone were to ask what style of art you do, how would you describe it? What special interest does that hold for you?
Edotions: I usually do Fantasy realism artwork as my normal go to, (women / men in armor fighting a Dragon, or a cyberpunk setting environment just to name a few), but when I can't think of anything for my normal creations, I usually will make a hentai scene in place of it. I really like Tentacle Hentai as one of my favorite art categories. It's more creative than with the standard porn artwork I create. It's one I work on constantly.
Renderotica: Could you describe the process you go through to set up and render an image?
Edotions: I usually will brainstorm an idea and see if there is an image or something I can use as a reference to set the figures or items pose-up correctly. I like making all my poses from scratch and not pre-bought ones from stores, as it is easier than having to fix small errors you will see that don't match with the model. The location is very dependent on the lighting I want to have. I don't use a super powered computer so most of the time I wont do large scale renders or use dForce items in my renders.
Renderotica: What advice would you give to those just starting out in the 3D art field?
Edotions: Definitely use whatever resources you can find for free in the world of 3-D artwork. It can get expensive if you don't know where to look. DAZ Studio is free and has a lot of stuff on there that can get you started. Use tutorials often to learn shortcuts and generally gain knowledge on how things work. Find groups that work on the same type of art you do and learn from them to come up with your own unique style of how you want to create 3-D art. And generally have fun being creative.
Renderotica: Do you have any long term goals in relationship to your art?
Edotions: I do. I eventually want to start working on animations and create videos from my art pieces once I upgrade my hardware and get more knowledge on how things work.
Renderotica: Are there any projects, now or in the future, that you would like us to be aware of?
Edotions: Not that I am currently aware of.
We are looking forward to seeing more work from Edotions and we hope you have enjoyed this little peak into their work.
