You might not have heard of me, but I am actually a Visual Novel creator and with that, I use, like many others, DAZ Studio to render my scenes with characters. When you r DAZ3D library grows, it becomes harder and harder to keep track of where you bought something, but also: Sometimes items from non-DAZ3D own store, aren't easily findable anymore. Never ran through your whole library, using keywords you were sure fitted, but it couldn't find that character, or clothing?
Well, I did, perhaps I am still a noob...but I can code. I first created a webbased list that would keep track of all my items, but it wasn't graphical, so often I selected it, got its details and then went into DAZ still look for ages for it and often get the wrong ite. So, I added a simple thumbnail (you can get them from the product folders), it wasn't perfect, but it worked, it made finding the right item easier, but....I still had to take the info from my 'web library page' to DAZ and search. So I started testing the API....which wasn't great. I left it for a while and started to see how to get most of the data from the DAZ store, then also from Renderotica and other stores. Eventually I found a bit of a workaround, that wasn't as much 'hacking'. So I got more info, but still missed some items to sort and filter. I got some help from different sources and eventually built a site that was more 'user friendly' (I wasn't going to sell it yet, it was just for me). For my job I also needed to look into different frameworks and I moved from one to another to get the right feel. Eventually the current setup was done and I still wanted it to actively integrate with DAZ Studio, so I went to the API again. Long story short, I ended up requiring MCP server, which unlocks the API in a better way.
Months (well, actually it was about 1.5 years) later, here is DAZLibrary 1.0 for sale.
