So, most of yesterday I was finishing up a dress that I had put down for quite a while. I didn't understand the buttoning mechanism for this dress, so some time was used to figure it out. Well, good news is that the buttons are made of cloth, so they can deform in DAZ. The bad news is that they are complicated and are sewn on to the dress, which means I can't fake it like some other non-CGB or Rendero products.
So, now that it is on the dress itselft, I have to make a UV. Hexagon ain't doin it. So, gotta go back and see if zBrush can do it.
If you own zBrush or even thinking about purchasing it, you should go and see the Seminar on youtube. It's worth it to see what it can do. It's not a cheap program and the interface is crazy different even for Windows users but I got it as a gift a long time ago when my hands worked a lot better and had learned some of it. So I kind of understand it but then a lot of it way above my head. I see zBrush as a sculpting tool and not a tool to make cloth. To me, it's kind of like using clay to make a model of a blouse. It can be done but why? Well, anyway, during the seminar, I watch Sixus1, aka, Les, make a UV. Going to go back to that part of the video and see if I can do the same with my dress. I hope I can do it and make look OK. If I get frustrated, might do one of my other on-going projects or start another. Who knows!
