The base character is Riley from Raiya but there are a number of different morphs active.

I've tried using a few different 100% character body morphs.  I'm getting the thigh lines on characters by P3D, ES3D, and Colm Jackson.  A few others I've tested I haven't gotten the lines like Blue Jaunte and Cherubit.  The characters for which the lines showed up do not have HD on/off options, although neither does Cherubit.  But I'm wondering if some creators use HD morphs that can't be turned off?  That would be a serious problem as it would mean the NG9 wouldn't be compatible with their models.

Hi, have you tried reducing the character's render subd level to 2 or lower? HD morphs are really a headache for me...

Thank you for the suggestion.  I have now tried it with five different characters with a mixed bag of results.  Two from P3D (Rowan and the new Noa) and one from Colm Jackson (Mercia) were unaffected by going down to SubD 2.  I had to go all the way to SubD 0 to get rid of the lines, and of course the resolution at that point is not suitable for rendering.

I also tested a Mousso character (Dola) which has an HD slider.  Even with the HD details slider turned off, the lines still showed up.  I tried turning her SubD down to 2 and 1, but as with the other characters the lines didn't disappear until SubD 0.

However, with a character from ES3D (Bianca) when I turned the SubD down to 2 the lines went away.  Even for any characters for whom this works, though, I'm not a fan of this as a solution as the nice closeups with high resolution are one of the primary incentives for using Genesis 9.

I totally understand.

However, unless daz3d opens hd morph permission to our third-party authors, this problem cannot be completely solved.

But I have another dirty method that doesn't require lowering the subd level. Taking p3d Rowan as an example, go to 'data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 9/Base/Morphs/P3Design/Rowan' and you can find some files with the DHDM suffix. Temporarily remove files with "body" in their names from this folder:
P3DRowanPreteen_body_bs_Body_HD2.dhdm
P3DRowanTeen_body_bs_Body_HD2.dhdm
Then restart daz studio, load Rowan and apply NG9. At this point, since the HD morphs of Rowan's body were temporarily removed, the lines will disappear from the rendering result. In the meantime, Rowan maintains the original subd level and HD morphs of the head.
You can compare the renders before and after removing the body hd morphs to see if this method is acceptable.

Thanks for the suggestion.  There is still a slight line visible, per the attached files, but I expect it will not be noticeable unless someone was looking for it.  I think this solution will work.  Thanks for your help!

It seems that HD morphs of this character's head also slightly alter the shape of her body (which shouldn't happen). Anyway, glad this worked :-)

Hi! I'm unable to run the preprocessingMac.app application.  I'm on a Mac running Sonoma 14.4.1 and when I double click on the application file I get an error that says "The application “preprocessingMac.app” can’t be opened."  I've tried to play around with the security settings but can't seem to figure out how to get the application to be allowed to run.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, It's likely that there is a problem with the permissions of the app's executable file and it is not executable.

Please try the steps outlined in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGIjWAPcsf4

After the "chmod +x" a manual open / launch will get an "are you sure" prompt and they'll be ok afterwards.

Hope this answer can help you

3feetwolf,

Big fan of your products! Have been enjoying NGV8 for years, and recently bought "New AE for Genesis 9" along with "Cum at Will for NGG9".  I'm very excited to use them...  Unfortunately I cannot get them to work.  Hoping you (or anyone else) can help.  I am working on a mac, in Daz 4.22. (see images for specifics)

1. I load Eleanor, a Genesis 9 character from Daz, complete with anatomical elements & textures.

2. I load "01 - Preprocess Character Textures"

3. Error window says "Could not start the process"

I have re-downloaded and re-installed, didn't help.  Combed to forums and interwebs hoping for a solution, but have not found one.

My skills are intermediate, at best, so this could very well be some sort of opperator-error I am unaware of...  Please help!  Eleanor and I would be very grateful.

Thanks very much, and keep on keepin' on!

Hi DekeE, I'm so glad you like my product :-) According to your feedback, I think the issue should be related to the execution permission of the app in Mac OS.

So first, please find "/data/3feettwolf/New Genitalia for Genesis 9/Resources/preprocessingMac.app" in the folder where NG9 is located, and then try to run this app directly in Mac OS.

If a “can’t be opened” prompt pops up, it proves that my inference is correct. So we next need to assign execution permission to the app’s executable file.

Please try the steps outlined in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGIjWAPcsf4
After the "chmod +x" a manual open / launch will get an "are you sure" prompt and they'll be ok afterwards.

3feetwolf,
After following your instruction, indeed the issue is verified that it is the execution permission.

Sadly, I have spent the last half hour typing, and re-typing (I’m a very bad typist) the code explained in the video. When it comes to code, I know it has to be perfectly entered. The video was helpful, but as simple as the line was, apparently I could not enter it correctly. Not knowing if there were supposed to be spaces in-between the code bits, I tried every iteration possible, only to get errors each time.
"chmod +x preprocessingMac.app/Contents/MacOS/preprocessingMac"
I believe that was the proper line…. However, I was never able to get the app to initialize the next step of offering the option of “open anyway”…

I am way to excited about your product to give up, so I’ll keep fidgeting…
But am hoping you can spot the error of my ways, ans snap my onto the proper fix.

Thanks again for the help!

You'll need to issue the command in the directory where the preproccessingMac.app resides... e.g.

My Library/data/3feetwolf/New Genitalia for Genesis 9

or you can specify the full path e.g. "chmod +x  /Volumes// something / something /My Library/data/3feetwolf/New Genitalia for Genesis 9/preprocessingMac.app/Contents/MacOS/preprocessingMac"

42snoopy,
Thanks for the assist!! I am trying to follow your directions, but am NIL when it comes to understanding codespeak. What I’ve tried so far is to implement the same terminal procedure from the root directory. ..Problem being, I don’t know how to properly do that. Your suggestion of specifying the whole path is my goal, but so far has been fruitless. Surely, I must be typing the code in wrong. I’ll share a pic of the terminal outcome.
Thanks 42snoopy for the help!

Screenshot looks a bit odd - I've not seen the HD named with the special/green font that is captured there (did you do something special to name your User or Hard Drive?). As a test, in the finder, navigate to the folder that contains the preprocessingMac.app (should be My Library/data/3feetwolf/New Genitalia for Genesis 9/Resources)

Drag and drop that folder onto the terminal window and if done correctly you'll see the full path as the terminal "sees" it.

A few notes to help... if the path has spaces you'll either need to include the whole path in quotes (e.g. "My Library/data/3feetwolf/New Genitalia for Genesis 9/Resources") or you'll need to escape the space with a backslash (e.g. My\ Library/data/3feetwolf/New\ Genitalia\ for\ Genesis\ 9/Resources)

I may have also caused confusion with how I quoted the example...

at the terminal it would look like  chmod + /DekeSus\ Mac\ Studio/Macintosh\ HD/Users/Deke\'s/Documents/preprocessingMac.app/Contents/MacOS/preprocessingMac <-- I see that you are testing against a copy in the documents folder?
