Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work for me:
- Completely reinstalled the update.
- Inserted default V8.1
- Applied NG
- Ran update materials script.
This results in a light triangulish area around the gens:
Any idea what's going wrong here? Anybody tested the update?
Thanks in advance.
I have noticed in my testing that the update material scripts are not always adjusting for shader differences ie, it is applying the texture maps, but still using Iray Uber Shader. Easy fix is to just apply the PBRSkin shader to the NG surfaces. (I set it up via the script menu to make it faster) The problem is it seems to be finicky as to when it is or isn't applying the shader from V8.1
Example when testing it, out of a dozen different loads of New Gens on V8.1
3 times texture and shader were correctly applied automatically on loading,
3 times texture and shader correctly applied when update script was used,
5 times texture updated but shader didn't (fixed when I applied PBRSkin Shader to New Gens)
1 time I had to manually apply the PBRSkin shader and manually copy and paste material from V8.1 body to NG.
As it seems a bit random as to whether or not the new shader is being applied when New Gens is applied to V8.1 (Or any other figure using the new PBRSkin shader) I'm not sure if the error is in the script or just in how Daz Studio is interpreting/reading the scripts upon loading NG or running the update script. One thing with computers if an error is easy to replicate it makes it easier to find and fix, if the error seems to be random in when it pops up it makes it harder to replicate and in turn harder to find and fix.
