1) what brought you into 3D?
I was first introduced to while taking computer graphics classes back in highschool. We were given access to Bryce, Poser, and a few other programs and allowed to go nuts. I enjoyed it a lot, but not having access to the programs at home meant my interest eventually drifted back to traditional media. A few years later I joined a video design degree program. When I asked the professor for a few suggestions on programs that were affordable on a student budget he directed me to Daz Studio. By the end of the week I was a complete 3d addict (not to mention broke).
2) How did you choose your nickname?
I have to admit, when I first joined Renderotica, I had no intention of posting anything. I was shy and insecure, and worried that people I knew IRL might stumble across it. Cupcake666 is actually the screen name I used when I didn't have any interest in linking an account with the rest of my social media. It was cute, easy to remember, and sounded absolutely nothing like anything I've used on other sites. Of course, that has since changed.
3) How long have you been creating your artwork?
My first works in Daz/Poser were done in 2009, but I've always been interested in art in all of it's forms. Some of my earliest memories are of a very encouraging family member allowing my 3 year old self to use Paint on his very expensive and hightech (for the late 80's) computer.
4) Where do you draw your inspirations from?
Honestly, I'm not entirely sure. I tend to blame things sleep deprivation and caffeine withdrawal for quite a few of my weirder ideas. Many times something simply pops into my head and I just think "Oh, that would look cool, I should do that." Other times I'm just playing around with a new item and wind up with something interesting.
5) what are the specs of your render machine?
A 3 year old Alienware M17 laptop with 4 GB ram, 2.2 Ghz i7 core, AMD Radeon HD graphics card, and a nasty tendency to overheat if I'm not careful.
6) Out of all the various art mediums why 3D?
Out of all the mediums I've used, 3D is just the least frustrating for me. I'm more likely to get a result that I'm actually happy.
7) What are your plans for the future?
I'm hoping to get myself a job in the video game industry, and I'm sort of working on my first game.
8) who are your favorite artists other than yourself?
AlanDavis
9) If someone reading this wants to start creating their own artwork what words of advice would you give them?
Start simple and be patient. It's not going to be perfect the first time, or the second, or the tenth. Don't let it get to you and just keep working.
10) Any hints on what your next project is going to include?
I've got a few ideas for a few pinup sets I might submit to the store in the next few months.
11) Do you have a job outside of 3D or do you consider this your full time occupation?
In the real world, I am a supermarket clerk.
12) Speech time! any final words you have for your, fans and fellow 3D community?
I'd just like to give a big hug to everyone who's supported my work and encouraged me to do more. It means a lot to me and I thank you all for it.
