1)What brought you into 3D Art
I was working with a record label back in the 90’s that wanted to have a “cartoon” version of one of their artists for an album cover and liner artwork, I was tasked with making this happen and I discovered Poser 2 or 3, from there I was “begged” to make a nude green elf for a friends Dungeons & Dragons game night, and from there it was seen by a friend from the Adult Industry who asked if I could make “Lots” of content like of an adult nature, that’s pretty much the “Long story short version” I guess.
The “Longer version” picks up at the end of the “short version” around 1999 - 2000 where myself and three other artists started a mission to bring 3D Porn to the Adult Industry by “force” to show that not only could it be a “popular” medium but a profitable one as well, I launched the first 100% 3D Sponsor program and paysites (prior to this time 3D Porn was only featured as “bonus content” on the big porn paysites) By 2003 I was producing content for most of the top online porn companies and consulting them on how to market their 3D sites. by the end of 2004 the original group of 4 3D artists had successfully taken the 3D Porn niche from a sub-sub micro niche to it’s own stand alone niche and almost every online porn company had at least one 3D porn paysite in their programs.
It was around this time I started to get interviewed by various Adult Trade Publications such as AVN (Adult Video News) Xbiz, Klixxx, Ynot and others, and I was dubbed “The Godfather of 3D Toons” (a moniker that always made me chuckle to be honest) around 2007 I sold off my 3D company (network of paysites and affiliate program) and switched to full time content production / marketing / consulting for other companies and continued to help raise awareness to the 3D Porn niche which I did till late 2010 when I made the jump to the virtual World platforms and created and launched a ‘proof of concept’ virtual world called “Loki Land” (I felt and still feel that virtual worlds are the next progression of 3D Porn / content as with the platform artists can now create their artwork in full 360 3D environments, and instead of merely LOOKING at an artists photos people could actually immerse themselves in the world the artist has created. Last but deff not least I joined Renderotica in October 2013 as the Community manager / Social media manager (Under the name “Teronsuke” )
2) How did you choose your nickname?
I was what you’d call a “Little Terror” as a child lol, and at the age of 7 a family friend observed me running wild around the house and said “Aye, looks like you’ve got a little Loki on your hands” to my parents, I asked what a Loki was and he explained. that nickname pretty much stuck over the next 30 years and when I got into the Adult industry I decided to use the nick as my moniker.
Loki is the Norse god of trickery, mischief, lies and deceit (great guy right lol) BUT if you delve a bit deeper you see that Loki is very akin to the ‘id’ form (id, ego and super ego terms) and he was blessed with a ‘golden tongue’ and the ability to shapeshift, great things in regards to business lol.
Teronsuke (from what I was told years ago) LOOSLY translates to “Son of Tyr” another Norse god, Tyr is the god of Truth, Justice and Law and as a polar opposite of Loki I used the Teronsuke moniker for my writing, and mainstream type sites, gamertag etc. My original plan was for the two monikers to NEVER meet of be tied together, but over the years it’s just sort of happened lol
3) How long have you been creating your artwork?
I guess I’ve been somewhat of an ‘artist’ my entire life, between photography, graphic design, and 3D Artwork. but if I had to put like an official date to my life in 3D Art I guess I’d have to say 1998
4) Where do you draw your inspirations from?
My biggest influences have always been Boris Vallejo, Frank Frazetta and Olivia De Berardinis (Even though you may never see it in my artworks lol) I was always fascinated by the overall pinup style and fantasy settings, and only now after 16 years of creating 3d artwork am I really attempting to create that style that’s been kicking around in my head.
5) What are the specs of your render machine?
AMD Phenom Oct core, 16gigs of memory, SAPPHIRE Vapor-X L Radeon HD 6770 graphics card, 1tb hard drive (and a slew of jump drives) my fav part is the case… Antec Lanboy air (Sadly now discontinued) due to 90% of the case being mesh that promotes airflow and has NEVER overheated no matter what I toss at it.
6) What is your favorite work you’ve created?
I really could not pick a single favorite work of mine simply because I do love everything I have created over the past 16 years for some reason or another, also I’ve produced so much content over the years lol, over 1,000 image sets and over 250,000 images and growing, picking a favorite would take me months (and by then I’d have more to toss into the search) BUT, with that said I GUESS, it would be a tie between “Paige/Kimmy” and “Ardyn” Paige being a revamp of one of Thornework’s skin packs and Ardyn I can not for the life of me remember what her org base maps were made from.
7) Out of all the various art mediums why 3D?
“No Limits” As a photographer I was tethered to what I could find to shoot, where I could shoot it, the weather, lighting, who I could shoot, and sometimes what I could afford, with 3D Software the only real limits are the artist’s imagination and or creativity. I loved always having the perfect 10 model, and the ability to ‘shoot’ in any location I could come up with.
8) What are your plans for the future?
Releasing a series of “E-mags” under my Loki account here at Renderotica of my older pinup style works as well as brand new artworks, and finally creating some fantasy pinups that have been banging around in my head for years now, and MAYBE someday I’ll finally finish up the graphic novel I started working on in 2008.
As "Teronsuke" Community manager and social media manager I have a LOT of great things planned for the Renderotica Community, I hate to be all hush hush about them right now but ALL I can really say is "Stay Tooned" because 2014 is going to be a very exciting year for our community!
9) Who your favorite artists other than yourself?
Outside of the Renderotica ‘scene’ Olivia, Boris, Frank F., Thomas Wagner and Jean-Michel Basquiat. As for 3D Artists, Uncle Sickey, 3D Fiends, Lyno, Dullspanky, Tart, Cisco, Samuel Kahn, Alabastar Monkey, Dutchie, Erogenensis, Nemain, Alex Marshall, Friedland, Bodo, Rotrex, Digitalkink, Hrtc and many others too numerous to list
10) if someone reading this wants to start creating their own artwork what words of advice would you give them?
RUN!!!!! lol, nah just kidding, I guess my biggest piece of advice is to have oodles and oodles of PATIENCE (I really lack it myself lol) be prepared for lots of trials and errors, long wait times for rendering, sometimes forking out lots of money for software and plugins. and most of all have PASSION! If you are truly passionate about what you do it will always show in your end results, and no matter the blood sweat and tears if you love what you do it balances out in the end. It goes back to an old saying, if you find something you love to do, you’ll never work another day of your life.
11) Do you have a job outside of 3D or do you consider this your full time occupation?
I am currently the Community & Social Media Manager here at Renderotica under the name “Teronsuke” and as time permits I produce 3D content for various companies and offer consulting and marketing.
12) With all the recent advancements in 3D technology what excites you the most? What do you dread the most?
Lol, everything… I’m so happy that we are finally getting updates to software that is at least starting to take advantage of our render machines (Poser) and I’m also stoked to see more and more artists getting into the fray. I’ve said this since 1998 and it STILL rings true today: “The 3D Market will continue to grow, and become more and more mainstream”
Dread wise, it’s always been Piracy, I loathe the fact that the plugins and artwork is stolen more than it’s bought, and one day I hope it’s no longer even a part of the 3D equation (you know in a perfect world lol)
