I'm admittedly a newb with DAZ, but I'm computer savvy, and the guide is no help at all. 

It indicates: "Locate your DIM zip directory: Open DIM, click on the upper right gear, click on the 'Downloads' tab, and locate the Package Archive directory: – Copy in it the zip and dsx files;"

What does "copy in it the zip and dsx files" mean?? You can't add zip nor dsx file formats to that field, and you certainly can't select zip "and" dsx files... 

I tried to first unzip the downloaded package and then select the content folder in DIM, but after hitting accept and refreshing, it still never populated it as an installation option. 

Ok, fine. Maybe this option is just invalid. 

 

 

I've installed assets manually before, lets try that. 

I drop the entire unzipped folder into my G8M Anatomy folder, boot up DAZ, and the Dicktator assets are showing up in my library. Cool. 

First thing I do is try to open the tutorial PDF, and it doesn't exist... (image of error below)

Ok, if the guide isn't even in the file structure where it belongs that's not encouraging. Hopefully everything else is where it's supposed to be, since I loaded it EXACTLY the way it unzipped...

Well, there's the file it's looking for, exactly where DAZ says it's looking for it, but it still believes it doesn't exist... 

 

So my request is 2 fold:

A. If anyone has a solution to this issue, I would greatly appreciate it

B. If  Meipe or anyone else could create an accurate installation guide, I think it would save everyone from having to listen to guys like me crying about it not working  :p

If you 'drop the entire unzipped folder into my G8M Anatomy folder' then it is not installed how it should be.

Copy the contents of the zip file to the My Library root instead.


Edit to add, don't worry that your file and folder structure doesn't look exactly like mine, I heavily modify my content. The principle is exactly the same.

If you want to use DIM.
1) Click the gear icon top right
2) Choose Advanced Settings
3) You will see a window open
4) Click the Downloads tab
5) Make a note of the Package Archive folder path (mine is none standard)
6) Copy the zip and dsx files to that folder (zip file is the content, the dsx file is a file that tells DIM what to do with it).
7) Open DIM and the Dicktator product should be there to install (If it's not at the top do a search in the 'Type here to filter' box).


 


The instructions as written are pretty much spot on (DAZ updated DIM so there is now an extra step to select the Advanced Settings drop down) but does assume a little bit of prior knowledge.

Using the DIM route you outlined worked PERRRRRRRFECTLY. Thank you!


Your instructions are so much clearer and more specific than the guide, I knew exactly what you intended by how you described it.
