I made a horrible mistake - I installed DS 4.22.


Since that time, Golden Palace for G8F is not working properly on characters other than the default G8F. If I load a shorter character, Golden Palace loads in the default G8F location - too high inside the character. If I load Golden Palace onto a default G8F, it loads in the right location. If I then use the height morph to change figure height, Golden Palace does not move with the figure.It remains where it loaded and the figure mesh distorts around it.


I've since uninstalled Daz Studio 4.22 and reverted back to DS 4.21, but the problem persists.


Re-installing Golden Palace for G8F has not resolved it either.

Appreciate any insight anyone can offer. I don't use Golden Palace often, and it has always worked, so I don't know much about fixing it.

Check your GPU drivers are up to date.
(The "Is it plugged in question?".) Are you loading the graft with the figure selected in the scene?
Do you have the node selector tool active, and not any editing tool or mesh grabber active?

Thanks for the quick reply!

GPU drivers are the latest - Nvidia 546.17
Its plugged in and powered on.
Figure is selected when loading the graft.
Node selector tool is active.
No mesh grabbers or other editing tools (or anything else) active.
Nothing else in scene other than the default light & camera.

Just to help narrow down if its a figure parent error, character hip parent error, or hip bone parent error.

When you translate the figure/character away from world center.
Then load the graft.
Does it load on the G8 base figure hip correctly?
Does it load on custom character hip incorrectly?
Does it load at 0,0,0 world center?

Additionally:
Try disabling any collisions where possible to rule out problems people seem to be having related to collision errors in 4.22.
I doubt Translucency/Transparencies maps are connected with your issue but with bugs who knows. Removing those maps (from hairs) was a workaround for a no render error in 4.22 that a fix is reportedly in the works for.

Got it narrowed down

Loaded G8 base & X translated away from center.
Loaded graft - loaded & parented correctly.

Loaded custom character & X translated away from center.
Loaded graft - did NOT load & parent correctly.

Repeated load of G8 base with graft, and applied various custom FBM's with sliders.
Some worked fine, some did not.
FBM's that did not work all used the G8F Height morph.

Checked the DS log file and it shows load errors with the Height morph and with GP & the Height morph.

Reinstalled the G8F body morphs, and Golden Palace now seems to be working fine with the Height morph and all custom characters that I've tried thus far.

No idea at all how installing DS 4.22 broke the G8F Height morph, but it looks like it did.

Thanks for your assistance in helping me troubleshoot this, even though it turned out not to be a Golden Palace problem.
