I know a branding kit exists here on renderotica, but they're decals, and I have not had good luck with decals, simply because I don't know how they are supposed to work (I know I have to be in IRAY preview, but I still can't see them in the preview pane, and rendering to see where they are is not efficient). So, I need 2 brands in LIE format, with some redding around the edges.
For G8M, I need something on their ass
For G8F, I want it on the left boob
WordTattoo from DAZ can work for part of it, but the actual ranch brand, I need something made, as the logo is a combination of WF, where the leg of the W and the leg of the F are combined, but again, I need the brand redden and raised.
I'm open to try any ideas, the issue is I understand material settings, but don't understand applying a LIE layer, so if it's more simple than I describe, I am all for learning (same with decals)

I would also like to see some hot iron tags for genesis 8
burns, and burned marks into the skin, burned insulting words into the skin, a model of hot iron ...
it would be luxurious.

L.I.E. is extremely easy to use in Daz Studio providing you have a good source image, in this case for a brand you would want to create the brand in Photoshop or GIMP. Create the brand and maybe a reddening effect done on a transparent layer, saving out as a .png file to maintain layer opacity.
After you have your brand prepared, open Daz Studio and load the figure you want to brand, go to the surfaces tab, select the surface you want to add the brand to, hover over where the default surface map is, usually it will be the Base Color if using Iray Uber, hover over the map and left click. This should pull up a menu, go to Layered Image Editor and click. This should open the Layered Image Editor pane.
First you will have the texture map of the base figure you're working with. Where it says Layer there should be a + and - if you click the + it will add a new layer. Then you go where it says Resource click there and it will pull up the file browser, point it to the Brand.png you would have created earlier. Then you only need to move around the brand layer till you have it placed where you want, play with the Blend modes if you want, when done press accept at the bottom of the editor window. And you have applied the brand to the skin of the model.

You're welcome
When designing your brand think big, while it might stand to reason that a 100x100 pixels size or 200x200 pixels size might be sized good. Keep in mind that Daz Studio maps are often huge with the torso/body map alone often being sized over 4000 pixels each direction. So make the brand big, you can always scale it down in the layered image editor easier than you can scale it up and it still look good.
