I'll be periodically posting new renders over the next couple of days. I've also included some handy details about the renders at the bottom of the images ;)
Enjoy!

Great work! I've tested it on two images that caused me a lot of problems with the previous version and the results are a world of difference: easier to light, more realistic and no darkened blotches when the light source isn't perpendicular.
Thanks for doing this and for making it a free update.

The female version works well, but when I load the G8M version, I get a message saying that this file is missing : "data/genesis 8 male/anatomy/thunder-3d/ultimate skin male_full/ultimate moisture shell.dsf"
The shell loads however but it's invisible and the parameters to set the surfaces visibility are missing.

Did you previously have the earlier version installed? I must admit I didn't uninstall the old version so if the update is relying on a file from that it might explain why I don't get that error.

USM 1.2 was not supposed to need that file, but it appears to still be required by the shell, I take full responsibility.
Very sorry for the confusion, will have a hotfix linked here in just a bit.

Updated installer with the data folder is ready for download!
If you installed USM Male Core for the FIRST TIME before the date/time of this post and the shell gives you an error, there is a missing data file. You don't need to reinstall the whole package, just the data folder.
If you UPDATED from the previous version, your USM Male Core should already be working normally. :)

Is the updated installer available from the download section. Just asking as you've mentioned a hotfix link in an earlier post. Downloaded 1.2 just yesterday and not sure whether the update is already on there or not?

Yes, you have to download the installation file again (only core package).

Really cool update! I do have one question though, why there's no geometry shell made for the G8M default genitalia? I noticed that the texture maps for it exist in the files, but there's no presets made for it.

Version 1.0 had DAZ gen support as a feature, the problem is that the DAZ male gens are modeled in the flacid state. This basically works, on the mesh, however the UV is also designed for the flacid state. If you look at the DAZ gen maps, they're VERY squished vertically. This looks perfectly fine when flacid, but when you make it erect, the materials stretch, meaning round drops become long and spiky. We just didn't like the end results we had gotten and dropped "official" support for DAZ gens.
The compromise was to leave in all the old DAZ uv maps we had made, so customizers would have those maps available for tinkering. :)
DAZ Female gens are also not "officially" supported, but the solution for those is a MUCH easier copy/paste fix in the surfaces tab, and instructions are included in the documents folder :)
And now a few more rendered examples of USM v1.2 :D

Correct, you will need to re-download CORE male to get the missing data folder. (If your install .zip has the data folder, you already have the hotfix ;) )
You only need to do this if you are getting an error when applying the male Ultimate Moisture Shell. If there's no error you're ready to render :) Edited by user Sunday, April 25, 2021 9:19:47 AM(UTC)

Oh, that's a shame. I still prefer using G8M default gens over Dicktator, I'll just make my own presets for it then.

I agree with the others, the lack of support for g8m gens in the scripts but having the files included is really wonky. Nothing against Meipe, he seems like a super nice guy, but Dicktator is not the gens that everyone uses.
I don't have the first version of the product, but a friend of mine does and I'm confused by the differences. It seems like you're getting *less* with 1.2 versus 1. 1 has displacement settings, 1.2 does not. 1 has a script for the g8m gens, 1.2 does not.
I feel like I'm being penalized for buying 1.2 when features I needed are in 1.0
