Thanks, Jerriecan. I'm expecting meteorologists and climatologists to do something forceful about this topsy-turvy climate situation. Cold when it should be warm, water-logged when it should be dry, super-heated when it should be mild. Live long and render

No doubt. I remember days when the rain could gentle all day long, haven't seen that in years. Now anytime we get rain, it's windy and torrential and filled with lightning. Hail so bad it leaves piles at every downspout. Winters are either it snows a few times or we're buried under a foot of it until well into spring.

Two o'clock am on a Friday morning, and I can't sleep. All I want to do is sleep until the sun comes up. There's nothing so very wrong with that. And I'm tired too! Dog tired. I feel like I've run a half-marathon, which is certainly not the case. Fatique! Is that an illness or a curse? Live long and render

These days, it seems, whenever I buy a store-bought, frozen pizza; I find myself thinking it's time to learn how to make my own. My brother does, and they're pretty good. Today's disappointment was a Dr Oetker Casa di Mama Deluxe, which proved to be as bland as any lunch-time meal I've had this month. Not even Citra's Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, normally a potent and flavoursome red, could improve it.
Long sigh. Live long and render

And I've got a ghastly brown mouse in my little apartment. It avoids my six glue traps like an expert and prances around in mid-afternoon, taunting me beyond reason. I'm going to get it somehow someday. I swear. Live long and render

I feel for you.
The BEST lure... NUTELLA... works like a charm every time.
Good Luck

Nutella? Thanks, it's worth a try. Cheese on three of the glue traps didn't tempt the critter at all. It makes me wonder what the "h" it does eat. I just got two bait traps and I appreciate the tip. Edited by user Saturday, August 30, 2025 6:17:41 PM(UTC)

Peanut butter, they throw all caution to the wind for it. ...and it will fatten them up nicely for the pizza :-) I'm just here by mistake, for a friend, for science... anyway you can't prove nuffin'.

Twisted_Pencil, you're confirming something I heard yesterday when I was buying my new bait traps. A fellow shopper hunting for mouse traps said that he had great success with peanut butter, of all things. I thought he was pulling my leg, but obviously not. Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try.
