I did that a lot when I first started rendering, especially when I looked at my work compared to some of the astounding work on here. Then one day I just started posting. Looking back at a lot of my earlier work on here I frequently see lots of problems, but it also works as record of how I've improved. No one's perfect immediately. Posting up stuff also can give you confidence to keep going!

Posting incentivized me to improve my work, as well.  I try to keep a catalog of works and poses that I can use for revising or re-use.

Stories are problematic for me, as well, so I stick to individual images for the most part.  Sometimes, individuals will suggest a scene and that's very helpful, but I shy away from some of the more gruesome ideas.

I guess I am the rare individual whom has more ideas than I know what to do with.

I see things all the time that give me ideas, new movies, old movies, tv shows = the same, my wife and I recently started watching reruns of The Ghost Whisperer on Hulu, after about 2 episodes I found myself not only duplicating it but trying to use Face programs to copy Jennifer Love Hugetits and I was pretty much successful too.

But for old time, when I was young inspiration, it came largely from a few copies of Heavy Metal Magazine a room mate of my mothers left out once and I found them, then I saw the movie and I was instantly affected by the comics in those volumes.

Plus old horror movies, like the old smash house movies, there was one called 'Savage Weekend' which is a low budget and largely senseless horror movie, but at one point in the film one of the attractive and very pale women in the movie goes to the middle of a field by herself, strips naked and starts sunbathing.

So later this other guy walking home from fishing sees her laying there, takes off his shorts and nails her right then and there, not a word is spoken, he just cums and goes, while other guys watch.

It was warped and it warped me.

I find myself recreating that scene, in different ways.

But that isn't the only one, there are others, like the original Death Race 2000, Mel Brooks comedies, Monty Python, SNL and it's anciallary projects like the Blues Brothers, Animal House, Caddyshack, and even the Ghost Busters.

Not to mention Ralph Bakshi, his work also inspires me, movies like Wizards, American Pop, Fire and Ice.

Another source of inspiration... I was wondering if anyone else might have been inspired by Howard Schatz's underwater photography of dancers posing individually and together? These are beautiful studies of the human form at its best.

There are several Muses that favor me, both mortal and immortal. The latter include Inspiration, Serendipity, Clarity, and Memory. The former include various artists whose works have moved me, and individuals who have asked me to create images for them.

Not much help I know...
It's not Art, it's Jim.
