Make the Genesis 8 figure compatible and as mentioned better ways to fit clothing. So, so many things Poser needs to upgrade and others need to let go of.


 


I'm going to be blunt here, I think Poser is at the end of it's longevity. DAZ will better what ever they come up with now, and step it up a notch. It's not even in competition anymore in reality if you want to use the newer better meshes and shaders.


 


I rarely even bother with the time and effort to create anymore, so using Daz has just become familiar ground once again. I'm to old to try and figure out new UI's and screwing with all the shit to get a decent render. It's just not worth my time with a severe lack of interest in what I create. So I'll just keep using Studio now until I just get fed up and call it over.

It's a bit like Atari. They just released a new game system the Atari VCS. It's not awful, but it's not great and not worth what they are charging for it. It has the Atari name, so that got some to look and a few to buy. Seems where Poser is at. It needs a huge update to even be as good as it's main competition, that is mostly free.

I've switched almost completely to Reallusion.  What I need from Poser is a better fbx export capability so I can transfer my extensive Poser props library and have their sub-prop functions transfer as well.  The bvh motion files transfer for M4 and V4 transfer nearly seamlessly, with just the usual amount of tweaking, but getting the props over...not so much.  How much trouble would it be to fix the Poser fbx export function?  I don't know, but if the prop itself and its texture transfers perfectly, why doesn't the subprop tree transfer?  Or did I miss something somewhere?
