The support person in question has today sent me two rather extravagant apologies by email and an unsuccessful attempt has been made to address the issue. Time will tell of course, but I have concluded that Poser is not in better hands, or even in good hands. I do really suspect that Smith Micro was unloading a product considered to be a white elephant with stagnant sales and a costly development/support staff. But Smith Micro could and did support the owners of previous versions of Poser, and that right up to the end; R'osity seems not to want to, and that right off the bat. If I had any, I'd be selling my stock in R'osity. Stay safe and healthy, live long and render.

much agreed. Since the fiasco I had with their management I have only bought one thing there and it was only because of lack of merch resources for g8F makeup for characters I am working on in between pose sets. Which was the first purchase I made since 2017. I just can't bring myself to even support that site anymore. My wife and I use to spend close to $100 to $250 there combined monthly. when we were building up our V4 era collection when we made art for second life builds.

First off, after that stunt they should have offered you an on the house upgrade, to try to smooth out what was said that wasn't suppose to. I doubt they will offer it though. I do hope they figure it out for your benefit though.

@chaosophia, Thanks for yours. It is a dilemma, don't you think? Why boycott talented vendors because the management at their marketplace isn't terribly professional? Fabiana, 3d-Age, Tru-Form, Flink, Pretty3D, addy, Sveva, etcetera, all market excellent fare and have earned and deserve their customer base. And they can hardly control the behaviour of the people upstairs.
It's splitting hairs, I suppose, but R'osity seems not to know that there's a formidable difference between providing a web marketplace and being a software developer. These are two different endeavors with different goals and responsibilities. For all its talents in the former occupation, R'osity looks likely to come up short in the latter.
That being said, I'm going to content myself with the apology and move on down the line. Live long and render.

PS. I speak as a disappointed customer, not a frustrated vendor.

I agree that the gifted artist that were  mentioned still support Poser and I do still support them when I see something very useful.  However they are but a fraction of the artist that have moved on to create DAZ material and frankly who can blame them.  These folks make their living off of the products they create.

But the site as a whole in terms of management do have their flaws.  They allow nudity to promote sales but forbid most of it in their galleries,  Not to mention a fee to post more than a single image per day.  Their personal are at most times rash in their responses and at times lazy to protect their vendors when rosity material is posted for free on certain free sites.   I personally gave them data on three sites once and those items were still there month later.  They responded to me that they would look into it, but in my opinion they did not.   I also feel that it is better to open a dialogue with the vendor directly to solve a problem than go through management.

do I think Poser is in the wrong hands?  Yes and I feel that when they introduce poser 12 they might not get the reposnse they hope for.

Smith Micro is an odd lot.  three times now I have purchased software through them only to be told a few years later they will no longer support the item. So I wa not surprised when they dumped Poser but I feel that any business should support a previous product they were responsable for a certain amount fo time

Time will tell,  I am glad you got a response from them to your liking

BTW  I like the Live long and render phrase.

I showed Rendo the finger, when they started bullying me because of my Render muse.
I then insulted them so much, they had to kick me out, for I couldn't find the "leave" button.
Shortly after, they took over Poser. I was known for being very critical about Poser. Well to much thinking into it? Maybe.
I do think Poser is now, where it belongs.
