I'm quite sure I'm being stupid and missing something obvious - a constant condition from disability and pain medication mental side effects, I'm afraid - but you say in the ReadMes that the hairs are editable, and I have edited one (Natural Growler NG set 10), but can't seem to figure out how to save its edited state for further use.

As a little bit of the hair pokes out above some gym shorts my character is wearing for one scene (which is a good thing, for me), I've finally figured out how to do it and edited the hair with the geometry editor to give it an extra surface group - the hair that pokes out above the shorts, so i can hide the rest when she has the shorts on. But I just can't seem to figure out how to save the hair with the extra surface.I tried File>Save As>Support Asset>Save Modified Assets which offered the file in the data folder that I presumed would have the surfaces groups data. I've tried saving it as a Scene subset, the shell its fitted to as a wearable, even the Figure/Prop Assets save as if it was a new product (for my own use only, obviously), but when I've tried then tried loading what's just saved each time, the hair just loads up with your material groups again and my extra one has gone. What does one save how to have a resuable version with a persistent extra material surface group?

Sorry to bother you, but this is driving me nuts.

I always save them as Figure/Prop Assets.
But I have never tried editing the surface groups in the Geometry Editor, so I'm not sure if that can be done with SBH and how exactly.
When I wrote that they are editable, I was referring to the Strand-Based Hair editor, and that would probably be the best way to do that.
Click on the hair and go to top main menu Edit/Object/Edit Strand-Based Hair. There you can delete the part that you don't need and save as Figure/Prop Asset, just don't overwrite the original if you need both variants.
It might take a few tries to get what part exactly you would need to delete though, as you can't see your clothing in the editor.
Hope that helps.

Sorry - thought I'd clicked to watch the topic, so with no notification thought there hadn't been a reply, But I hadn't, so missed this until a couple of hours ago.

Thanks for the reply. I've never opened the Strand-Based Hair editor before. I'm sure there are instructions somewhere, but just wasted a lot fo time blundering about doing stupid things, and stupidly not doing things. When i finally got somewhere, I'm sure you would have laughed seeing me spending  a good ten minutes repeatedly going over and over a bit below the top edge of the shorts in the middle, completely stuck as to why one small patch of hairs there wouldn't clear away like the rest, just kept poking through ... before my brain finally engaged and I very belatedly realized it wasn't hair coming out of an area I'd cleared behind the waistband, it was hair from above the waistband of the shorts long enough it was hanging down in front of the top of the waistband. (I think I may have another edit to comb it back behind the waistband.)

Anyway, thanks again.
