Where most of the Named and Numbered characters the HD morphs are supposed to add subtle details, so as such the graft boundary indentations might be subtle, but use a heavier use of HD morphs like HD Morphs to create cellulite, or stretch marks, or scarring and the boundary becomes more pronounced.

Yes, I am using some HD Morphs on this characters and applying the shell to a basic G9 character seems fine initially until I start adding some of my morphs... that's a shame as I was part way through rendering a comic series with this character until I noticed the issue.

Apologies, I'm not overly familiar with some of the more specialised functions of Daz Studio (basically anything outside of posing and rendering) - are my options then to either redesign the character as best I can without HD Morphs or ditch the headlights? That would be a shame as I have struggled to find decent looking nipples until this product.

Apologies for my ignorance!

Pretty much. Until Daz releases the HD Toolkit to those outside Daz's PAs there are no options for graft makers to add HD to grafts, so it is pretty much choice of one tech or the other, but not both, so you can use standard characters/figures with grafts, or you can use HD Morphs, but currently the ability to use 3rd party Grafts and HD morphs is not possible.
