I'm assuming you were trying to buy "adult products" and if so please see this thread: https://www.renderotica.com/community/forums.aspx?g=posts&t=284984

And for Questions / Concerns / Updates check out this thread: https://www.renderotica.com/community/forums.aspx?g=posts&t=284985

CLIFFNOTES: Over a year ago the prior team lost the high risk processing and for whatever reason decided NOT to apply for new processing and instead routed EVERYTHING through Paypal (which is a big no no) They also failed to tell anyone it was gone during the changeover,  we only recently discovered it and are now in the process of an audit and acquiring new high risk processing needed to sell adult content.  During this time we have no checkout for adult products / NSFW products.

Does this affect Renderotica purchases also(DazStudio assets)? I was under impression that it only affects Renderotique.

I can't buy any adult NSFW content anywhere here. Paypal has always worked since Andrew was alive and running the site.

OK then it does affect Renderotica also. Any idea on approximate ETA? Are we looking at days, weeks?

People could use gift certificates bought on CGBytes for Rotica right?

There is no checkout for Renderotique until audit is completed and new high risk processing is acquired.

CGbytes = SFW products (Can checkout as normal)
Renderotique = SFW & NSFW products (NSFW products Can NOT checkout until new processing is acquired This includes not only comics and image sets but also adult products for Daz Studio/Poser/etc )

Renderotica = community site that features ADS for all products from both stores, you are routed to the proper checkout/s depending on what is in your carts

Nothing on Renderotique that is not also on CGbytes can be purchased at this time.

For more info, please check the links I posted above

that is because both stores had the proper processing in place,  just over a year ago the team in charge lost the high risk processing and failed to get new processing or bother to tell anyone it was gone when the changeover took place last month. for that entire time both stores were actually at risk of being blacklisted due to the way things were being routed.  we had to take down adult purchases, submit to audits in order to axquire the proper processing in order to ensure the stores get to stay up for years to come.

We know this is very frustrating, but it's much better for a short downtime then being forced to close down the stores forever.

No, Rotica is not nor has it ever actually been a "store" it's only ever been a "display site" / community site,  all checkouts always took place with either the CGbytes or Renderotique header at the tops of your checkout process.

Additionally, if you were to buy a gift cert or points from CGbytes and then use those on the other store that STILL means you bought outside of the proper legal channels and could/would result in the stores getting blacklisted by the processing companies (I actually wanted to go that route during the downtime but I was made aware how that was also against the rules)

Thanks for explaining everything. Also thank god you took over, that sounds like the place have been dangerously neglected and I'd hate to see it destroyed. Best of luck getting everything going again.

Tech... Thank Aaron for bringing me back lol,  and I did not take over, I'm back doing the same roles I did for 11-12 years Social Media Manager and Community Manager,  and I also have some "new" responsibilities that we haven't quite made public yet.

Rest assured though, no matter how chaotic things might appear right now, or things going up and down,  who you have 'behind the wheel' were literally those who were here for many years prior.and built most of the org systems (when I say org I mean from when Andrew bought the company from Diane) Aaron and his team built most of the backend and created things like the "Artist Studio" the ability to embed videos into posts and the gallery, and more.  I redid how the feature banners and promotions worked so that all vendors could get promotion, I retooled the contests so we have more each year,  and my personal favorite,  I started up an "in house" promo group that created renders and feature banners for products.

We've always been passionate about the community and the company and we still are! and once the dust clears from cleaning things up so to speak I'm sure everyone will be happy with the things in store for the future.

When I said you I meant Andrew's crew, maybe nostalgia but I liked how things were back then. Felt more solid than past few years somehow.

P.S. if I may add a suggestion for the future. The product rating system could use a short comment with each rating. Makes things far more clear why something got 5 or 1 star.
