VISA/MasterCard has been strongarming credit card processors to ban adult content (and shut down accounts related to them) for a few years now.

I read that the purge was related to sites with CASM (look that up, it's the new term for sicko shit).
The mainstream porn sites don't seem to be affected. I wonder how they do it?

It's the non-con and violent content they are targeting. Been that way since day 1 when I got into comics 20 plus years ago.

I never noticed gift certificates were available before, I'd actually prefer to use them to purchase all adult products. I see them now in the bottom left menu. Question, how exactly do those work, do I have to send them to the email listed for my account, and they show up as available balance there?
They make clothes for V4? Why??

Purchase then use email your account is on then it shows up in the account section under catelog store credit. I think ya have to accept it then it will work. I only know the way for purchasing for other accounts so I don't know if ya have to accept it for it to be viable or not. But when ya check out ya can use the credit redemption credit on the cart.

To purchase Gift Certificates, it will ask you for the email address that you are sending it to. It does NOT have to be the email address that is used to register your account. It can be anywhere, that's why they are called Gift Certificates. You can send them to someone as a Gift, or, in this case, to yourself so you can redeem it for credit to use for anything in the store.

In order to use the Credit, you must be logged into a valid member account. You cannot place an order without being logged in.

Once you have made your purchase, the Gift Certificate code (found on your receipt) will be activated, but still needs to be redeemed. To redeem it, go to your Account Settings menu by clicking on your Username in the top right corner of any page on the website while you are logged in. In the left menu, choose "Catalog". Inside the Catalog menu, you will see a menu option called, "Redeem a Gift Certificate". Click that and enter the code from the receipt and the visual Captcha code. You now have a credit on account.

You can see your credit by clicking on the "Store Credit" link from inside the "Catalog" menu in the left hand menu. (while in your Account Settings menu).

When you are checking out, when you get to the screen that has the Points, Coupon, Store Credit boxes, (see attached) enter the amount owing for the invoice into the Store Credit box and Apply. When you click Check Out, it will take you to the Payment screen, where you can just click on the No Payment required box and your order will complete, ready for download.

Thanks, I'll start using those.  Along with adding a degree of separation from the actual products it makes it easier to budget purchases.  I tend to use them over at DAZ also.

It would be nice to use credit card for purchases again.

The solution You propose is not really satisfactory.

Best regards.

Visa has been cracking down on porn processors. Like Puritanical cracking down. It's not just Renderotica. And since they are the "Big Dogs" no processor is stepping to them, cause they are dangling that well if you don't we are gonna make you irrelevant as a processor to 3rd party transactions power play. They have the monopoly on processing so unfortunately they make the rules for transactions, and make everyone follow suit. They only reason why some sites are getting away with it is cause they are paying off the "strong Arm" to keep it up. And they make enough money to challenge them if they were to try something.

It's across the board the smaller processors can't pay up so they just deny the sale of xxx related stuff since it is considered 'high risk". at least this was my understanding of it as it was hashed out over the AI forums when a certain ai hosting site started purging their content because of this and new laws going into effect.

We have resolved the issue with accepting credit cards for Comics. You can now use credit cards for comic purchases again without having to go through the hassle of getting a Gift Certificate first. We thank you for your patience.

Unrelated to the above problems, but still something about those credit card companies...

They also started putting some weight on the Steam platform and even though I think that some Steamers are exaggerating things a little bit ... I can't say that I don't enjoy seeing the severe shit storm unfold over there. Gamers ("/Steamers") are not happy to see some vague companies trying to dictate what we can and cannot enjoy.

If you haven't already then I highly suggest to check out the Steam discussion forums, there's a lot of talk about this going on over there; and you'll also find links directing towards online petitions in which people protest against this form of digital oppression (IMO that's exactly what this is!).

Or, as some like to put it: we're heading back to the days of the Spanish Inquisition. Back then you weren't allowed to do some things "because God said so", and now we're being denied services because "the economy demands it"?

Maybe food for thought?

Here's a comment that was made at another vendor's site with a bit more detail...
"It's worth mentioning that Collective Shout is *Australian* and the payment processor issue isn't somehow unique to the US. Visa/Mastercard/Paypal have threatened to drop services for a number of e-commerce sites around the world. They always start with child exploitation as the ostensible reason, because that's something that is a legitimate concern, but when they make progress with that, it starts to broaden out from there. You may remember a little while ago that OnlyFans said they might have to drop NSFW stuff? That was a payment processor battle."

Unfortunately there are no competition to mastercard/VISA. So they can do what they want.
Steam tried with bitcoin in 2017. The transaction fee started at $0.20 but soon ended on $20. And half of the transactions where fraudulent. So even today it seems crypto has failed to become a player in the money transactions business.
Third party processors seems to work better with Mastercard/VISA. They take all the risk but are also more expensive.

What are these 3rd party processors? Are they some sort of go-between?
Thanks!

A good way to use Grok :)

Third-party high-risk credit card processors are specialized payment processing companies that cater to businesses deemed "high-risk" by banks and traditional processors due to factors like high chargeback rates, regulatory scrutiny, or operating in industries prone to fraud (e.g., gambling, adult entertainment, CBD, or cryptocurrencies). These processors act as intermediaries, facilitating credit and debit card transactions for merchants who struggle to secure standard merchant accounts. Below is a concise overview:Key Characteristics of High-Risk Third-Party ProcessorsSpecialization: They focus on industries or businesses with elevated risk profiles, offering tailored solutions like high-risk merchant accounts and payment gateways.

Higher Fees: Due to increased risk, they charge higher processing fees (e.g., 0.5%-2% above interchange rates) and may require rolling reserves (a percentage of sales held to cover potential chargebacks).

Robust Security: They provide advanced fraud prevention tools, chargeback management, and PCI DSS compliance to mitigate risks.

Flexible Integration: Support for multiple payment methods (credit/debit cards, ACH, digital wallets) and integration with platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, or Authorize.Net.

Multiple MIDs: Some offer multiple Merchant Identification Numbers (MIDs) to diversify risk and ensure continuity if one account faces issues.
