Hey Meipe,

Here's a fun one for you.

I have a g8.1f character that I have created and added Breastacular. Milkaiser, Golden Palace, and Jungle Jewels.

Once I did that, however, something very strange happened: the default translucency map on her arms became unset, and what's worse, the button that you can normally click on in Daz to open the file browser to set one disappeared!

I have attached three images to illustrate this.

  1. Character with your assets added showing the flaw where the arms meet the shoulder.
  2. Surfaces tab Surfaces->Arms->Base->Diffuse->Translucency category for a new g8.1f character without any of your assets added, and you can clearly see the button that lets you set the translucency map (outlined in red).
  3. Same Surfaces tab setting for the g8.1f that has your assets added, and the translucency map button is gone!

I saved both characters as uncompressed DUF files so I could compare them, and I see that for the arms on the one with Breastacular/etc. the uv set for the arms references Breastacular:

"uv_set" : "/data/Meipex/Breastacular/G8F_Breastacular_Graft/UV%20Sets/Meipex/Base/Large%20Areola.dsf#Large%20Areola",

...but for the unmodified g8.1f, it's this:

"uv_set" : "/data/Daz%203D/Genesis%208/Female%208_1/UV%20Sets/Daz%203D/Base/Base%208.1%20Female.dsf#Base%208.1%20Female",

...which is what brought me to the conclusion that Breastacular somehow has something to do with this.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Well, I didn't find a fix, per se, but I did find a reasonable work-around. I played with the translucency color moving it off the default and was able to end up with something that wasn't horrible. I'd still like to be able to replace the translucency map, but this is better than nothing.

I've attached two images: before I made the change where the missing map was painfully obvious, and after changing the color where you can just barely make out the issue if you look very close (which for my renders, won't be an issue).

Unless Meipe can offer a better solution, this will do for now.

Thanks for the response! This should in no way lead you to believe that I have anything but praise for all of your products. I mean, I own a bunch of them already, and have even more on my wishlist. 😁

I did try reloading, but no difference, hence my work-around.

Thanks again!

I had some similar issue in the past, and I solved it saving and reloading the scene. Your solution sounds good!
