I've created three strand based hairs for the GP Minora and Majora faces of a G8F figure in Daz. There are more strand based hair layered in the pelvis / torso area of the figure. It all works amazing in animations I am working on.

The problem is when I close Daz and the scene and fire it up again the Labia Minora shapes are slightly different when I render the scene again. It can be observed by flicking back and forth between the supposedly identical frames. The body and everything else is identical, just the labia tends to shift a little.

I have found a fix for this. I have to edit the strand based hair, and click "Update Surfaces". For each strand based hair of the G8F figure in the scene. Then I have to save the file, close Daz, and open it up again. Then the labia will render identically to the original. If I close the scene again, even without saving, and open up Daz I have to repeat the "Update Surfaces" steps all over again, save scene, close Daz, and re-open the scene. Is there anything that can be done to prevent this from happening?

I could just default to the incorrect labia shapes and sizes because that seems consistent. But I prefer the original shape. The differences are very minor, I was just wondering if anyone also encountered this?

Is there a script to update the surfaces of all the strand based hair in the scene? Note that just updating the surfaces does not fix the issue with the labia. I have to save and close the scene and re-open for the changes to work.

It sounds like you're saying that the hair changes upon reloading, in which case try saving the strand hair as a figure/prop asset, then test by saving the scene and then reload it

What's happening is the hair changes the shape of the labia. I have 31 frames in the animation and it could be that the hair forces the labia poses of frame 31 on frame 0. Not sure. The fix is to "Update Surfaces". I would prefer to keep them as strand hair because they follow nicely with the body bends of the figure and Golden Palace during the animation sequence.

EDIT: I just found one saved scene file maintained the correct surfaces after I loaded it again twice. The scene loaded with frame 31 active. Usually I have all scenes saved at frame 0. Maybe that was why it rendered all frames like the original. It looks like everything is fine so long as I don't change anything in the animation of the figure. If I do I have to go into SBH Editor and "Update Surfaces".

I am creating looped ping pong animations that I can stitch together to create long sequences that look more fluid and less repetitive. That's why I constantly reference the first frames of all the sequences to make sure there is a seamless continuation. It will probably not be noticeable when the animation is played. Just would like to know what's happening. Only the Golden Palace labia is affected, not the majora. And the difference is very subtle.
