what do you use for animating 3d Characters?  I am using Daz3d.  I have done short clips withing Daz3d, but I am looking at Blender and Unity to create animations.

I've used Max.Maya and animation master in the past but now I use Poser exclusively... By far the fastest, smoothest most intuitive software I've used, and the Optix renders are pretty much exactly what you get from Blender. I get about 2.5fpm using a 3060, I was getting 5fpm before the render queue broke...
Y'all have a great day.

I won't animate, as long as I can't produce a decent image quality in under 2 minutes per frame. This makes DAZ Studio useless to me for animations. I'd like to dive in with ICone or Unreal 5,
but right now it seems impossible to get a character over including geo-grafts and geo-shells.

Daz for animation is good enough, I usually sample out tiny versions to with low frame rates first to make everything is good before doing a final version. There are also a ton of helper addons for anition, stick, spring, etc. you may want to pick up. But creating animations in Daz is derp simple.

I also use Daz to crate FBX animations to export into games engines like Unity and Unreal, there really isn't anything simpler for doing this then daz once you have a bunch of pose bundles.
