How do I enter? There isn't the usual competition tick box when I submit an image.

We had an issue with permissions on the New Contest Category that has been fixed. You should be able to see the option when submitting new images now. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm afraid I'm having a problem uploading an image into the contest gallery, too. I'm assuming I do so in the same way I normally upload an image to my personal gallery, but at some point there will be an option to put the new image into the contest gallery?

Correct, while you are submitting your image, after the "Gallery Categories (must choose at least one)" on the left side of the screen,  you'll see an area to click on called "Contests!  2021 Halloween Contest"


IF you don't use the "Switch to single form" to submit your images, the contest check box can be found on tab #3 "categories"

Can I delete an image from the contest and submit a better image instead? Or will this get me disqualified?

You can absolutely delete an image(s) and replace it with something else. There is no penalty; you just have to ensure you submit the image within the contest timeframe.
