Also note that I bought some "male to male" poses that were simply repackaged "male to female" poses, down to the exact high heeled foot pose. Or the male is posed more femininely, which looks bad when you have a huge muscle man with sway hips and pointed toes, but you wanted him to look butch while "taking it"   Sometimes just because it says it's male-to-male doesn't mean the effort was actually put in to make it so. 

Since the characters I make and use are different heights and proportions, I always have to tweak the poses to move hips, arms and legs. So really getting a pose set to get you in the ballpark of what you want to do is what really matters.

Edit for pose vendors: At least put some flat foot versions of your poses in your sets.
