Using Aeon Souls Dirt geoshell - Genital area not affected by it

I am using the Dirty skin geoshell from Aeon Soul and the whole genital area is not affected by it, with which I mean the area that Golden Palace affects is clean, while everything around it has the dirty shell. I tried offset, I tried the fix that comes with GP, but nothing works.
Any way to get that dirt shell on the groin area?

Most geo shells unless they are specifically set up to apply to the added surfaces will just ignore the additional surfaces so you will have to manually add the texture map/settings on the parts it won't cover. Example go to the shell surfaces and copy the torso surface, then look for the surfaces covering the genital graft, and paste the torso texture to the genitals surfaces of the dirt shell (Sometimes you may have to change the shader on the geo shell genital surfaces to match, often the geo shells surfaces will default to the Daz Default shader when applied, and the materials settings will often change them to Iray Uber, but as the material settings will ignore the additional surfaces on the shell you will have to manually apply the correct shader before pasting the torso surface, as copying and pasting to a surface wont change the base shader setting.

Thanks, so basically trying around to find the right surface and shader

Nevermind, I got it.
Basically the surfaces you want to copy TO are GP_Torso and GP_Torsoback on the main shell. Shader seems to be the same, since it does not look wonky Edited by user Thursday, March 11, 2021 11:13:52 AM(UTC)

If your still offering, I could really use a tutorial to resolve the same issue I'm dealing with right now, Thank You.

Is there anything wrong with the explanation BrotherHades gave?

Sinister:
Well it's because when I tried to follow the Instructions, at first the shader preset wouldn't apply at all. Then when I reloaded Daz Studio, the Shader Preset Did Apply but replaced the Entire Skin with Dirt instead of the dirt being placed on the skin.
So I'm not sure where I screwed up but I can't seem to get it working, I wish there was a Video Tutorial Available so I can replicate exactly what their doing to get it to work.
The Only Alternative I've Found that Kinda Works is By Using the Basic Genesis 8 Female Genitalia, then Using Skin Builder 8's Genital Options to Copy the Skin and UV's onto it and then afterward use Thunder-3D's Sweat Pack's Graft Helper Tool
to adjust the Genital Surface of Aeon Soul's Dirt Geoshell, then Copy the Torso Surface, Apply that to the Genital Surface and then Change the UV From Default to Skin Builder 8. It works, except when you turn her around you'll see a small white mark.
But it Works, 87% at least. But I haven't tried that on the Advanced Pussy Shell nor Meipe's Golden Palace and I doubt that method I found myself playing around in Daz will work on those as their More Complex Shells, and Certainly not on Futalicious.

Huh. I stand Corrected, My Alternative Method Does Work on Golden Palace, in fact it worked even better than it did when I first attempted it on the Genesis 8 Basic Female Genitalia. I am Very Surprised.
Aside from a Small Seam line around the Crotch, their are no small white marks this time and I didn't even need to mess with the UV's this time or Use Skin Builder 8. If the previous attempt was an 87% Success, I'd say this was a 95% Success.
All I needed to use with Thunder-3D's Graft Tool, [which is not the same as Meipe's Shell Fix] and then just copy the Torso Surface from Aeon Souls Dirt Geoshell and paste to all parts of the Golden Palace Genital Surfaces in the Dirt Geoshell.
Then you just need to adjust the Horizontal and Verticle Tiles if Neccessary for you.
Not perfect, noticed if I do a significant change to my character via the Geometry Editor it'll glitch out the genitals with the grey'd out shell collision as other shells on the body reset their parameters but that's easily fixable.
Still I'd like to learn that Other Method, Figure out what went wrong when I tried to create a Shader Preset that applying it broke the characters skin

You shouldn't have to/need to make a shader preset. As by default the dirt shell should use the default Genesis 8 Female UVs, and the copied graft surfaces will be using the default UVs as well, the only thing I'm not 100% sure of is I can't remember if the added surfaces use the same shader ie Iray Uber or not by default.
Otherwise it should be as simple as select dirt shell in scene tab, select torso on the dirt shell in the surfaces tab, Copy torso material settings, select the graft surfaces on the dirt shell in the surfaces tab, Paste to the graft surfaces on the dirt shell. and it should have the dirt shell surfaces now covering the graft areas. Only other thing is might need to adjust shell offset on the dirt shell, as you'll want it layered over the genital shells if used.
Then you could probably save out a materials preset for the dirt shell including genitals if you wanted.

I was Merely Trying to Follow the Method Provided By Rev3D through the Link gmretoica623 posted: https://www.renderotica.com/community/forums.aspx?g=posts&m=539719#post539719
Stating about Making a Shader Preset of the Dirt Geoshell, I tried to follow the Method But It didn't work for me. So I then Tried to Attempt my Own Method Which Kinda Works but has it's own Drawbacks.
What do you mean by Graft Surfaces, I see the Surfaces of Aeon Soul's Dirt Geoshell you Describe but I don't know where the Graft Surfaces you Mention Are. I think i need a visual explanation here.
Because I've followed several methods over the last 2 months that I've Found and None have worked so far so Either I'm just Incredibly Stupid or there's something Else I've Missed.
Want to finally get this right as I'm working on a Jokerized Wonder Woman Project for nearly a Month Now and I'm Close to Finishing her but Fixing the Crotch Area where Genitals are applied is one of the last hurdles needed to do.

Basically when shells are loaded in or grafts are loaded, all the surfaces of the figure and grafts are added to the shells (This is the cause of the infamous white shells issue, after adding multiple shells by the graft designers here, as the shells don't have materials settings for the foreign grafts, it defaults to white surfaces.)
The surfaces added to the dirt shell should be something like Golden Palace Torso and Golden Palace Genital. (I'm saying this part from memory as I'm not at my work computer/using Daz Studio at the moment so I can't give exact surface names) and it is those added Golden Palace surfaces you'll want to paste to.

Hi, I've used your method to successfully apply Aeon Soul's dirt shells with GP 9. The challenge I'm having now is using another geo shell product with GP 9. This is the product: https://www.daz3d.com/nd-genital-tattoos-female-for-genesis-9 The product includes a geo shell option as well as a "make up" one. Both work out of the box with the DAZ G9F gens. When used with GP 9, the pubic area remains white, and the technique that worked for the Aeon Soul product doesn't seem to work with this geo shell. DAZ product support gave me this somewhat cryptic instruction: "For the geoshell, apply it with the base selected, then select the shell to adjust the options." I was just wondering if you might have any ideas of what I could try in order to get it to work with GP 9.
EDIT: Now that I've played with the tattoo set a little more, I have found that it only works with Iray PBR materials on the DAZ G9 gens, and only using the "make up" option.
I have LIE tattoo sets that work without any of these issues (but none of them are for gens). Maybe that's a better method of creating tattoos. Edited by user Wednesday, June 25, 2025 12:35:36 AM(UTC)
