Has anyone worked with Blender? It's free and looks like it could help with textures and maybe file conversions?

I've been using it for a couple of months now. There are a few exporters for Daz Studio to Blender; I use Diffeomorphic 1.5 because it seems to work the best. There's a Blender section in the Daz forums and it's mostly about Diffeomorphic.
IMO, the biggest problem with Blender is the user interface. If you can get past that, the program is pretty useful.
Hopefully I'll have some renders to post soon. I'm still learning Blender right now.

Thanks for the reply. I'm mainly looking to be able to texture obj's and convert ztl (zbrush) to obj. If there are other added features happy to use them.

I use substance painter for painting in 3D or Blacksmith 3D. However what I have found Blender *amazing* for is redoing UV maps for existing figures and items. Highly recommend it for that.

I've used Blender for years and find it to be the best tool for almost anyone. With the 2.5 release the UI made significant strides in usability and now, as of 2.8 it's almost easy as pie. The best part is the massive, huge and gargantuan user base and the billions (yes!, I counted them) of excellent free tutorials. Rather than get bogged down in some long and expensive tutorial, simply dive in and when you hit a snag, 'Google' it away (or use Duckduckgo) with a simple and straight forward short tut.
https://blenderartists.org/ is the leading forum and is full of friendly and helpful folks. There are sites full of free meshes you can use in your model. https://www.blendswap.com/ is the leading site while https://blendermarket.com/ offers both free and paid for meshes, add-ons, textures and more. https://github.com/animate1978/MB-Lab is a free character creation tool.
One of the many advantages of Blender is the ability of users to create their own add-ons. There's stacks of them to do a wide variety of tasks. Even non-programmers can help with testing and suggestions.

Attached are some screenshots of a couple of projects. One is a steampunk impaling machine that includes a tribute to my hero (and fellow Canuck!), Dolcett. It's been an excellent learning experience made easier by the endless number of free tutorials.

Impressive. Thanks for all the replies. I'm curious about file converting. Daz seem to be increasingly unfriendly to poser and zbrush.

I don't have Zbrush so I don't know about it, but as far as Poser goes, I don't think Daz is trying to be unfriendly - they still sell content for it. But as the two programs continue to expand in different directions, it gets harder to export from one to the other.
Over the years, I've seen fewer and few people who use both DS and Poser. And the list of published artists that support both seems to be shrinking too.
I tried to export from DS to Poser a few times after I switched over but the results were so bad I gave up on it. Now I use DS mostly and Poser sometimes, but I don't really move content between the two.
On a sidenote, when you get bored in Blender, you can play with LEGO
