I remember Jack I came in right after what somebody called the site wars whatever that was.. I came over from Thralldom with a dozen or so other souls..
Diane was around and a few years later we started Premier.. Yes I remember the 50-50 system.. it was OK up till the dead beat artist stopped producing and was still getting a share of the pie every month..
There was a time I check on our illustrious 100 and some had not posted a single image in two to three years. that was like 25% of our group.. and they still got paid. I remember one premier artist posted an image in the gallery and under it said Just stopped by to post an image as I have not done so for two years, well here it is see ya in another two years..
I remember Dendras because I did a tribute to him by posting images with all his stuff that I could afford and the guy sent me his entire collection Mighty nice of him I think he left to become a Veternarian..
Remember the Premier Magazines only a handful are in the store .. I once spoke to Andrew about the rest and because the site was evolving so fast he said they would get around to it sooner or later.
a lot has happened but the site is still here and thanks to Dieter and Bodo Premier gets fresh content almost daily.. Thanks Guys
Stay well and be safe Shado

I started posting in the early 2000s. Those early images are no longer on the site.

Been around since the early 00's, remember the good ol' days with Jack, Diane, Doc & Ironbear.
We'd all get popcorn and watch Renderosity's annual 'shoot self in foot' day & laugh ourselves stupid.
So, still sucking air through my teeth, Hodgkins Lymphoma had a good go at punching out my clock a couple of years ago but I'm just too gorram pretty to die. (Not to mention stubborn)
Trying to get back up to speed after recovering from that, but last week I managed to fracture my pelvis so it might take a little longer than I anticipated.

Matt
Dude... you have been through the proverbial ringer, but it nice to know you came out on top.. Bummer about the pe;vise.. Just a sign we are getting older wiser, but still older than our own cocky selves.. I do remember Ironbear from way back
My problem are my knees and they bark all the time noe.. Veterans Health says drop 150 lbs and we'll put in new ones.. can you imagine a soon to be 71 year codger trying to rehab after knee surgery.. I can at least say by best friend in the pain meds I take they take the edge off.. some times..
Take car of that injury and get better and be safe
Shado

I've been here since about 2008. It's been a blast. I keep a fairly low profile here, but have had met some great friends like Smallville14 and had some great guidance over the years from Shadowman. There were only a few comic creators back when I started. Now there are many and they put out some awesome work. At my age (soon to be 68), I don't have the stamina to keep up with them, but I do manage to get a few titles out each year.

Ain't that the truth Capt T Eyes are not what they used to and sitting on your ass for too many hours regardless of the cushion gets to be too much and with my knees. I want to be off my feet but oh when I stand up.. All I can say is Tranadol is my best friend for those aches and pains..
The newer breed of artist are indeed very good.. and when your that good you get your stuff boosted all over the web.. I know a few artist here and do my best to report copyright infringement when I see an artist I recongnise
As for myself I manage to get 4-6 comics out a year but I do not pish it what used to be 3-4 weeks is now 5-6 weeks
Covid keeps me home, Not sick mind you, but it's the best way not to catch it. but I do most of the chores about the house as the wife's back is worse than mine. Have to keep her well or I can't get her to edit my comics..
well got to run dinner is ready
stay safe and well there Capt T and to everyone at renderotica as well.
regards Shado

This is a new account, but I've been here since before Michael 2 was released over at DAZ (and I remember thinking.. it has to get better, right?). My first 'rotica memory is the free beer and pizza set (which I still have installed.. sure wish I could find the rest of my freebies from that era).

I can't even remember the actual date I joined, sometime between 2006 and 2007. It was a couple years after I started using DS that's all I know and that was in late 2004.
Seen people come and go, seen good artsist bail, seen rookies become talented, and seen many who still put out poorly lit scenes.
I still see some of the older artists posting in other places and not here. This is a niche, and some have outgrown it. Some can't afford to keep buying new machines to keep up ever growing software that demands high end processors and huge amounts of virtual memory to even get OK results.

Does anyone still remember the old freebie pages? It was like exploring a dungfeom looking for the occasional treasure.

I'll keep posting for as long as I can or my Pc's die.... Think is these puppies are custom made and they just keep going.. I still have a PC that runs on XP for a single program and it's been like 10 years now and the only thing that need replacing was a new hard drive..
My other PC's do the rendering with one for Comic life.
Maybe I'll croak first Who knows... Oh yeah... the Shado knows

Wow, I feel like I've been here forever, but the rest of you folks are true antiques.
I'd guess ten years posting here, and perhaps another just as a voyeur, so say since about 2009, 2010, somewhere in there. The Curator of Downworld.

Ahh... the dial-up's squeelookle sounds. Sometimes it would go nureek, retoot or harnungle. But mostly, squeelookle. It sounded like two robots fucking each other's cpu until their condos exploded. "That was fun. Let's do it again."

Some one at Thraldoms or at Harvey Head Bangers Bashing Bondage Babes posted about a new site called Renderotica. Been here off and on since then. I think this is the first place I posted any free models. Seems like forever since I've posted any thing any where. Been an interesting ride. Had a 66 GTO that I put a ton of work in and got it up around 500hp. Today that's barley enough hp to be called a sports car. Had a room full of computers chugging away at doing renders, at the amazing speed of around 100 mhz. Today they are getting ready to release 64 core cpu's running at 3 or 4 ghz with graphics cards running 5000 + cuda cores. Every thing changes. Looking back things always seemed more fun and exciting. New always makes it that way and being in a niche that hasn't gone main stream yet is more fun. Now even your phone does 3D fx. Kinda miss creepy the clown and the newness of wondering if this or that can even be done. On the other hand don't miss the 300 baud modems or even the 56K modems or any of the old hardware limitations, although they also seemed to drive people to push limits.
PS just saw and realized, that's Vicky 1 or 2 on my icon :) dam I'm getting old Edited by user Friday, August 7, 2020 12:43:28 PM(UTC)

Hmm - not sure if 2009 qualifies for this club ;-)
Also still around, but not as active in the forums - the usual RL stuff nobody can escape from...
But really nice to see so many familiar names - some i have not seen anywhere for a while. And also nice to think of those days now already gone for a while...
Many nice things to remember - the sound does trigger some of them ;-)
