I just installed DAZ Central and discovered that its users can install assets only to DAZ Studio. People who use Poser in addition to DS will have to visit the DAZ3D web site and navigate to their Product Library to download an asset that's to be installed in Poser and then install it manually. DAZ3D seems to have it in for Poser, they've got the bit in their teeth and they're racing with it. Competition is the soul and heart of business.

Personally I would stick with the DAZ Install Manager. I tried DAZ Central on a laptop; it works, looks nice, but I'm not really sure what it offers unless you're an absolute beginner.

I also think it's confusing, because now there is DAZ Connect, DAZ Install Manager, DAZ Central and ZIP downloads!

manual Download it is. Download and unzip into your folder. Where is the problem?
I just don't understand, why we suppose to use that other stuff.

Aside from freezing Poser out, I rather suspect that DAZ Central, like DIM, is an attempt to make DAZ3D the principal source of assets, that is, an earnest attempt to protect the vendors from the pirates. You needn't look too far to find web sites offering for free products on sale at DAZ3D. But manual download is handier and DAZ Central, at first glance, does seem simplistic. But it's in its first iteration. It will become more elaborate with time.

I am sticking with Daz Install Manager for now to install DAZ purchased assets.  Other items are drag & drop manual install after unzipping to their own folder.  I find it easier to do it that way that way and I can confirm exactly where the files are going.
