Hello,
when I use the Geometry Editor to "Merge Fitted Figure(s) Geometry", the result is broken since Daz Studio 4.11 (also 4.12, 4.10 still worked). This is painful, as the only working workflow I know to bring GP to iClone is based on geometry merging.

Hello Meipe,
could you maybe give some hints on how to fix this?
Thank you!

I didn't know about this option, so I looked into it. This issue is most likeley not GP specific. I tried 3feetwolf's new Gens and they don't work either. The thing seems to be, that anatomical elements have their own bones set up, which don't make it intothe merged results. Try the default G8F genitals as a cross check. They should work, for they have the same bones structure as the hosting G8Female.
Let me guess, for this picture, you have a full body morph allready applied?
EDIT:
No, it doesn't work with the base G8F Genitals either. Edited by user Thursday, October 31, 2019 10:56:18 AM(UTC)

Sorry, I didn't find a way to fix this bug, other than using older versions of DS... :(

Yes: I have tried it with a plain G8F, and this works. But with body morphs applied, it doesn't
EDIT: The problem seems to occur when changing the "Torso Length" slider. Edited by user Friday, November 1, 2019 10:14:05 AM(UTC)

Thank you for your reply! I opened an issue at DAZ.

Hello,
Any news from DAZ about this issue ? I am facing it too and there is no way to downgrade unfortunately...

Hello,
unfortunately not
I think, the best thing you could do is to open your own ticket and ask for a 4.10 build to survive in the meantime.

If it helps, there's an addon for Blender that can import Daz scenes (.duf). In the few times I played with it it seemed to have little issue importing characters with geografted bodyparts. After importing into Blender and doing the nessecary fixes, you could then export it as an fbx and import it into whatever tool supports fbx files.

https://diffeomorphic.blogspot.com/p/finishing-section.html (this section talks about the plugin's ability to "merge anatomy")

It's broken but apparently it's not quite the same code path as export FBX. They both merge fitted figure geometry of course. Doing it inside of Daz is currently broken. Exporting to Blender, Maya, etc. with the exporters you can buy (Laylo's is good for Maya and the free diffeomorphic blender add-on is good for Blender, though for me it only works with 2.79, i.e. load into 2.79, fiddle with settings and then save and load into 2.8) is OK.

Hi Robinson, I am not able to make the blender addon above works on my side. I am using the 2.8 version so I guess I'll give a try using the 2.79. Did you encounter some kind of python errors on 2.8 ?

OK so I just gave Laylo's plugin a try and it's not working properly. It welds the genitalia mesh to the figure fine but I am also losing all morphs related to GP. Any idea ?

Yes. Laylo's plugin won't export morphs on any graft. According to Laylo, there's just no way to do it given what's available to the script in Daz (it's an issue for the Daz devs, not Laylo - he's talked to the devs about it). What you need to do is export a bind pose character with the value set as .obj and then create the blend shape yourself from the imported mesh (there are tutorials on how to do it - it's not that hard). Also if the morph goes from -1 to 1 you'll need to export and make two.
I haven't found it too much of a hardship. Once shaping is done, with Futa for example, in animation I only need two or three actual morphs.

It doesn't work properly with 2.8 I don't think. I downloaded and installed 2.79 and used it there. After following his instructions, save the .blend file and then load it into 2.8 if that's your preferred modeller.

Thanks a lot Robinson for all your help. I think I just managed to make it work. It would be easier if DAZ team fixed the original bug but at least I am not stuck anymore on my project !

Hello Meipe,
is there finally a solution available for the geometry merge problem?
It is really a mess that the only way is to use DS 4.10.
Especially now that there are all those bridges available which make workflows really fast except when...
Thank you!
