Hi,

I'm having an issue with Easy rider for G8M when using Maxx Centaur from DAZ. All goes normally up to the material copy which appears to work fine (see pic 01) then I try to apply one of the shell presets at which point the whole body changes colour (see pic 02).

It looks like Hellboy did some jiggery pokery with the shell to get a smoother transition from human to horse and I'm wondering if that's messing it up.

Appreciate any help or advice.

Thanks for the response, could you please outline the steps to achieve the above, not sure what you mean exactly.

On regular centaurs, both the "Male Centaur Body" and "Centaur Shell" are the same diffuse textures. On Maxx, the "Centaur Shell" has the horse diffuse texture, whereas the "Male Centaur Body" has a human skin texture - presumably to get the better transition.

I managed to get it to work after a bit of fiddling in the surfaces tab.

There may be a better way of doing this, but...

Load the shaft, anus and material copy as normal.

In "Materials v2" using the shell selector, apply the preset that you want. The body now turns the flesh colour.
In the scene tab, select the "Male Centaur Body" and go to surfaces tab. Find "1Coat" and change the base colour to "01_CentaurMaxxCoat_D".

You'll now see the gens and anus are textured, but the coat texture's still missing.

In scene tab, select the "easy rider shaft", go to surfaces tab and select "coat" - change the base colour texture to "01_CentaurMaxxCoat_D" and the colour should be all 1.00.

Repeat for the anus and the girl bits, if they're there.

Finally, in the scene tab, reselect Centaur Maxx HD and reload his "Centaur Maxx !All Mats Complete" material - this retextures the whole figure and will fix the transition between horse and human.

Good luck! Thunderstorm's about to hit here, so I may be off for a while.

Hi butchsl,

I tried your steps and on the textured shaded mode, It looks good and the shaft anus texture is blended. But when I tried to render it, it looks like this:

I tried to tweak the surface tab again but no luck. Any suggestion?
