Hello

I have just bought this and have a couple of issues to sort out please. I have installed and applied the genitalia which works fine but I am left with a "Border" where it attaches to the pelvis, pic attached. I have tried various things to alleviate this including collision and smoothing iterations to no avail. I have also tried to apply shell colour presets but no matter how many I try they do nothing. I have been clicking away on these things like a mad thing but no joy. I have followed the instructions with each Material option.

I am using G8F figure loaded with all the default settings but do get a little confused with SPO Geoshells/Futalicious Genitalia/Futalicious Shell

Further, and with all due respect I am a novice, so please reply as if you were talking to a mentally challenged nugget

Many thanks

Do you have the geometry editor or weight map editor activated? If yes, it may explain the seam as they kind of 'unparent' the graft. Just switch back to node selection mode in the tools settings tab or with the arrow icon at the top of the viewport.

About the shell, send me some screenshots of the scene tab and surface tab with the shell selected and its material names visible, please... I need to do some guess work.

Just curious, do you have G8F selected in the scene tab when you apply the Futalicious genital?

Hi Miepe

Thanks for the prompt reply. I'm not sure how to deactivate geometry editor or weight map editor but I clicked on the arrow at the top as in the pics. Sorry, bit of a slow learner :(
Pics attached.

Thanks again

Hi Thunder-3D
Yes I have G8F selected to apply the genitalia but then select Futalicious Shell to try and apply the Materials colour presets which is when I get stuck, they don't work :(

Hi again Miepe

"About the shell, send me some screenshots of the scene tab and surface tab with the shell selected and its material names visible, please... I need to do some guess work."

Oops, put the pics in my original post. Can't even figure out how to respond properly on this forum yet!

The genital graft isn't parented to the figure itself, it's parented to that SPO Geoshell.

The shells have an offset from the body of the character, pretty sure that's where you're running into the issue. Select the Genesis 8 character itself and then go though the process of adding the Futalicious prop, then the material copy script, then the Futalicious shell, then select the Futashell and apply the color presets to the that shell.

Here's a few pics;

Character Selected in Scene tab, double click the prop

Character still selected, now run the material copy script

Character still selected, add the shell

Shell selected, now add the iRay materials

Profit!!!

Genius! All is good in Gribbley's house :)
Many thanks my friend, you're a star!

Footnote: The instructions actually say to select Futalicious Shell when applying Material Presets. An edit required there methinks

Amandment to footnote: Apologies, been going through it again and I think I may have read the instructions incorrectly

You DO select the shell for the materials. Brimstone said 'Shell selected', and that's what the image reflects as well. If you try to add it to the figure you'll get either nothing or an error script.

^^^This^^^

It's easier to think about as it not being a part of the character's body, because it's not really. Think of it as a prop, or clothes or whatever. There are two props; the Futalicious genitals, and the Shell. They are separate items in and of themselves, the shell just follows the dick, like the dick follows the character, kind of like a shirt or a pair of shoes you put on the character. Now shirts and shoes have different materials, yeah? Like a blue shirt or a red one. Now since Meipe doesn't know what character you are going to use, or hell, even what characters may exist in the future, he/she made an excellent script that takes the texture from the character's body and puts it over the genital prop. That's how you end up with no texture seams where the prop meets the body. But there isn't a way to do that for the dick itself, because the textures for that aren't built into the body(...usually, but never mind that). That's where the iRay and 3DLight materials come in. Those are like the red or blue shirt, only there are not for the Futalicious prop, because the script already found those textures, they are for the Futalisous Shell prop, the "shirt" that goes over the genital prop. This way you can use the script to have no seams on the body, and the shell to have a dick texture.

Remember the original problem you had? How the dick was floating a bit before the body? That's because you put it on a geoshell. A geoshell is like a full body covering that you can add things or textures to. Like a shirt. A shirt isn't part of your body, and if you slapped a dick on it the dick wouldn't be on your body, it would be on the shirt. Only this shirt is invisible. And covers everything. Even the inside of your mouth. It's a shell covering the GEOmetry of the character.

Hope that makes sense, I remember being new to all this and there is a lot to take in.

Matt, got it now, thanks for the confirmation.

BrimstoneOmega, a very concise and clear explanation. Thank you for taking the time to put it into simplistic words for a simplistic but enthusiastic learner. Very much appreciated. I'm going to put your words to a document for reference in the future :)

Thank you BrimstoneOmega, for explaining this in terms I could understand. I had the exact same issue as gribbley and I was feeling stuck until I found your post. Now everything works just fine.
