Hey,

So I've always wanted to dabble with Daz and create my own personal scenes that I've always wanted to see. So taking advantage of my animation class, I decided this was the best time.

There is a character model in Daz for Gen8 named Rayvn, she has the perfect look for my MC for my project in class, with a little adjustments and aging I think she would be perfect for my vision. Sadly she does not have Anatomical Material or Textures and because there is a single quick sex scene in my story, is it possible for me to add Materials and Textures to her model from another G8 Model like BridgetPro, or even from the Materials from this site?

Or if I were to just buy Rayven, could I take the Golden Palace For Genesis 8 Female and add that to her character model giving her a anatomical genitalia that I can manipulate?

Welcome to the site.

Ravyn should be compatible with GP for G8F. The main thing you want to look for on the promo page is where it says " This product uses the Genesis 8 Female Base UV Maps ". If it used anything else, you'd have to buy the UV package for GP for G8F.

You could use Bridget Pro anatomical elements, but Rayvn doesn't come with textures for it, so you'd have to edit those by hand to try and make them match. Golden Palace matches the textures for you automatically, plus it has more features than the stock Daz parts.

so before I start buying everything and before I start jumping into the fray, what you're telling me is that I could buy Rayvn's character as a practice, and the GP for G8F and this would "automatically" create a vaginal material and the textures to match, correct? so I dont have to waste money of big "pro" characters right off the bat, instead I can buy 2 or 3 other characters and the GP for G8F would fill in the anatomical blanks?

The answer is 'sort of.'   Golden Palace and NGV8 have ways of matching the texture of the torso for the pubis, but you may have to adjust the textures and colors for the genitals themselves.  In many cases they will work just fine out of the box, but I find GP's defaults for the labia much too bright red.  They both have ways to allow you to adjust those colors easily however, either by choosing different maps (NGV8) or by selecting the script that allows you to select the colors you want (GP)

The biggest question you need to ask yourself is how close are you going to be to those genitals when you render.  If you're just going to be doing pinups, you'd be well served by the DAZ Anatomical Elements.  Get a Pro pack when they are on sale, and they regularly are.  If you want to do raunchy porn, then pick one of the others and enjoy.

okay, so either choice has its pros and con as well as strengths and weaknesses when it comes to rendering and how the scene is posed. Makes sense, thanks so much you really helped me out there, in the long run you saved me some money, I was about to take the long way round till I decided to ask. Thanks a lot for your advice!
