Long time listener, old ass caller :P

I think a lot of Poser and Daz customers who buy the quality products of this store mostly have some kind of paid solo gallery of their own... outside of Renderotica.

In the old days artists did not have as many options. They had to join some big group paysite. Like Premier. But, now it's actually better for artists to have their own site.

But many of these artists are buying products from Renderotica's store and cannot promote their site in the Renderotica gallery to show how they're using the awesome Renderotica vendor products.

So, they buy the awesome products here but do not post any of their own art in the gallery here ... that would promote the store products... because they cannot add their links to their sites.

And if they were posting their promo art in the galleries they'd also be active in the forums here,

I think the no link in images rule applies to a world that existed when we all started ages ago. It's actually hurting Renderotica now.

Unless you all prefer this site to basically remain a small tourist town where people stop and buy the fresh corn and drive on.

You get more Poser/DAZ artists posting their work here... it will attract AI haters to visit here seeking Poser/Daz art. The solo artist has an incentive to promote themselves at as many Poser/Daz sites as they can.

I am paying my rent off the incredible products sold in this store but I cannot promote it in the gallery here without it being a waste of my time because I cannot promote how I use the products professionally.

This is my completely selfish sell to allow offsite links in gallery posts so I can promote my site. But, there might be something true in what I spun :)

Either way - the vendors of this store are fantastic!! Keep it up!!

I don't think posting art here at Renderotica is without benefit. I think it helps the store and the site.
I would like to see a differentiation between the AI art and the traditional, as it's like comparing a hand tool to a power tool. The power tool always wins on a big job. That leaves the traditional artist looking at fewer and fewer likes, and the AI genre will completely eclipse the traditional artist along with the store that sells products for them.

Thanks Zeppelin !!

I agree with limiting AI. I think it has inundated DA so much that many traditional has fled that site.

I mean Poser and Daz artists with their own sites posting their artwork here but with links to their solo sites - which is prohibited at Renderotica at this time.

I can understand why this rule is in place, but considering that other galleries are being flooded with AI and now more traditional artists will be looking for another main hub to post erotica, it would benefit Renderotica to allow self-promotions.

One work around could be... in order to self-promote you must also link ( in your gallery post ) items bought from Renderotica's store that ae used in the gallery pic.

Artists who are just posting their passion without site links would not have this requirement.

When I made the original post above I was actually  a little beer tipsy and reminiscing about the old days here where the forums were bustling constantly. Now, I see some of the most recent posts are from years ago.

Plus again - my own selfish reasons :)

I got stung by the copyright issue on my images that led to my personal website. I was selling art collections, it wasn't a ton of sales but it was working. After the copyright came off images posted here, the sales immediately dried up and I disabled the 3rd party handling the file and payment processing. Basically its just an ftp site now.
My sales of 3d models have seemed to cooled off here and im not sure if its just me or all vendors. I see a lot more of the Ai stuff in the gallery here and far fewer comments, lol there are no comments anymore, and definitely less "likes" on my images as there used to be. It's hard for me to know if its "just me" or a trend overall.

I have noticed fewer likes and fewer comments, and the likes for AI art climbing.

Another aspect not mentioned beyond the copyright for AI, is the data collected on the user producing the art. Might they use the data to coerce users in the future? From what we know about general AI companies, they want it all.

AI art is the latest fade but it has a lot of problems.

Right now, in the States, nothing created by AI can be copyrighted.

Which means anyone can make a legal claim against any art or story or anything creative made with AI. This is a can of worms just waiting to be opened because someone, with a lot of money, could sue a website saying a huge amount of what's in the entire gallery is stolen... and none of the artists publishing AI could claim copyright on their own works.

With DAZ/Poser you can show them the scene file as proof that you created it.

I don't quite agree...  they can easily post their pictures on the site, the only thing they can't do is advertise and I think that's a good thing. I'd rather see 4 posts on the gallery while knowing that the posters really wanted to share their art (whatever that might be) vs. 20 posts where a majority of them is only driven by sharing their advertising.

Not to mention...  people can advertise on Renderotica... for a fee.

Allowing offsite promotions just lead to abusing the system, and driving away sales.
