Hi gang,
So... I'm one of the Renderotica product testers and also quite proud to be in this position. It's been roughly one year ago since I've been accepted into the team and yah, up to this very day I just can't help be excited about me being a small part of all this. I've been on Renderotica for quite a long time now and it's by far my #1 erotics website, so getting accepted to help them out a bit? You betcha I'm excited!
Now, thing about me... I'm in a good relationship and I've always felt very strongly about not keeping any of this a secret from my gf. Yah, it was a bit difficult in the beginning (not gonna lie) but she very much respected the fact that I wanted to be honest with her about all this and better yet: she decided that it was no problem at all, and has been fully supportive of me ever since.
So when I became a tester? She quickly became my biggest 'fan" 😎. Nah, I'm joking a little bit there but at the same time me being a tester did give her a bit of a preview into some upcoming products. Most notable the amazing sceneries from Clacy Darch (check this out!). During one weekend I was busy checking a few of their products when she came into the room and immediately recognized what I was working with. Also because said product was in her wishlist on "another store" but she had already decided to buy these from CGBytes after I told her that they would become part of CGBytes / 'Rotica.
I still have fun memories of that weekend because I was tasked to do a brief check of the product but because my gf was really interested I figured I might as well do a full test so that she could see exactly what it was all about.
(just for the record... the product in question was The Atlantic throne (<= CGBytes product link), and my gf ended up buying it after it got released).
But... onto the real story!
The day when my gf (!) became a temporary tester!
I can't help but vent a little here because the experience made me SO proud and appreciative. Not to mention the fact that I take the trust which "the powers that be" put on us very seriously.
And it all started with me being honest. Really.. the #1 advice I'd like to give you random readers out there is to seriously consider to be honest with your loved ones about your erotic hobby. I'm not claiming that this is going to be easy, and honestly? I'm sure this could turn bad for some of you, careful out there! But at the same time I also can't help wonder... if 'they' can't respect your erotic fantasies, nor respect the fact that you want to be honest about this, then what exactly does that tell us about them? hmm?
Anywhoo....
SO... the thing about product testing in general is that you want to get as many eyes as you can on the product and then compare the testing results. More people can discover more things, especially when they're looking for issues in the first place. This is something which the Renderotica staff obviously knows as well and they make sure to keep a tight schedule.
And then during one weekend it happened... one of my fellow testers had a personal emergency and couldn't complete their tests in time, this was obviously a major problem because vendors obviously don't like it if their latest products don't appear on the store. Seriously, some vendors even use a bit of an advertising campaign at times.
So during this day the Renderotica product admin reached out to me and asked me if I could take on a few more items because of said personal emergency. Thing about our team... there is a really tight team spirit so of course I was going to make this work one way or the other. Heck, it was in the weekend anyway so I'll just skip some gaming sessions. NP!
But then I also realized... wait a sec... what about the blind tests? There was obviously no way that I could take on 2 full queues (mine and that of my fellow team mate) and I knew the admin would never try to push that amount of crap on me, not without asking anyway, but there was obviously a major issue here.
So I told my gf that there was an emergency with our team and asked if she would be willing to help out. My gf knows how much Renderotica means to me, so she didn't have to think twice.
I'll never forget the moment I relayed this to 'Rotica staff... "if there's an emergency (I just asked "bleep") we can set up our own double test and I'll let her do the testing and check the checklist afterwards before sending it.", I suggested. I mean, desperate times call for drastic actions.
Sure enough, the admin actually liked my idea (!) and so I found myself instructing my gf on how to be a product tester. Shared the rules as they had been sent to me, explained the importance of the blind test and of course.. that secrecy is key. I mean, these are essentially trade / company secrets we're dealing with.
My gf looks at me, grins, and tells me: "Well, then I guess you'll be making dinner today so that I can do my first blind test!".
Always finding ways to turn a situation to her advantage, I just love it! 💕
Aftermath
We did the tests. First one, yah, while I was making dinner and I did mine afterwards. The second.. well, it got really late so we decided to sit behind our computers and do the test in parallel in one go without looking at the others screen.
Filled in our reports, sent them to the admin and sure enough... products got onto the market as usual.
My gf even got super excited about one of the products we were testing so I decided to buy that for her because, why not? (in case you're wondering: there's more to this part of the story, but that's something I'm not willing to share).
And that's the story of how my gf became a temporary Renderotica tester, and how I had one of the best testing sessions during the past year.
