Is there a FAQ or style guide to this forum

I want to upload a blog post with lots of pics (in small size), in manga style.

I edited it in google docs and work and then tried to upload it here.

Initially the Pictures didn't load copy and paste properly, then they did but I had to manually substitute them in, Then it said that "Body is too large" in red and wouldn't upload

I think that the thumbnail image is 300 longest dimension, but I'm not sure as its not written anywhere that I can find easily.

I will put a sample image here - for those that find AI stuff bad, avert your eyes now.

Even Here I struggled, this image has 200xX and down to 15k

I coudln't upload an image at all

To add images to your Blogs, if they are not in your Gallery yet, then you need to use the Insert/Edit image or media tool and click "New file" to select the image file you want then click "Insert" to add it to your Blog. See image of the Blog Editor below as an attached file.

To add images to Forum posts, you cannot load a file, you have to attach the file from the Options: section at the bottom of the post window. Then when you Click Post, it will pop up a window to select the file you wish to attach. If it's an image file, it will show a preview of it at the bottom of the forum post.  See image below.

Blog post thumbnail images should be 300x300 square.

Thanks for that info.
i actually managed to get it working

https://www.renderotica.com/artists/RajDarge/Blog/January-2025/Ophelia-s-Story-in-full.aspx

for reference.

I wrote the text in "Google Docs"

then added the images as I could. The trick was to make them into PNG rather than jpg.

I kept the longest dimension to 260px

The formatting was still largely stuffed up, and I couldn't actually do any editing in the blog posting window. I had to Do all the editing in Docs and then copy and paste it.

Text reflow is still a bit of a mystery to me with the blog editor. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and its very touchy. So I left it alone. I would like to get the text reflow around the image: but baby steps.

Is there a maximum size? to these embedded images. Is it better to upload them to the gallery first and link to them, That is not all that easy as I have a 5 post limit, and also the formatting is so easy to destroy.

I have a few more chapters written, and am creating the images to go with them. Maybe I will have it all worked out.

I assume the blog editor is a javascript plugin that was purchased from a 3rd party? if so is it possible to have its name, it may have some docs of its own that I can chase down.

Thanks anyway for the response.

Raj

You aren't really limited to the size of image you can add to a Blog. Just remember that the blog needs to appear on someone's computer, or tablet, or phone...depending on how they have logged in. If you create your Blog with huge images that are 1280 px wide, then it's going to disappear off the edge of their visible screen and they'll have to scroll. Always consider the viewer and what the average viewing size is.

You can always set the properties of images to be a percentage, then it will only use a percentage of the visible viewing space.

If you are familiar with HTML, then you can always switch to Source mode and edit your Blog in HTML code. The Blog Editor is a WYSIWYG editor. (What You See Is What You Get) If you need more dynamic formatting, then you may have to switch to HTML and add Div containers and CSS to handle your needs. Of course, to maintain security on the site, some HTML tools will not be available.

We have used an HTML email editing tool to create some of our Blogs, an example of this is https://www.renderotica.com/community/Blog/December-2024/Renderotica-s-2024-Year-s-End-Render-Contest-Decem.aspx

It inserts alot of it's own CSS styling to work with the content. You may want to consider using another tool other than a Word editor to create the look you are after.

For your images, you don't have to load them into the Gallery to add them, you can always use a file hosting site like Imgur, but remember to read their Acceptable use policy first. The absolute easiest is to just use the Insert Image/Media tool from the Toolbar in the editor. Select the file you want and load it up.
