For the second time, I've shown up at my out of state families house for a holiday to find people sick and lying miserably around without telling me first. I probably got the vid the second I walked through the door. Dammit. I tested positive. Fuuuugggg!!
At least it's not the horrible fatique and shortness of breath I had last time, but the head cold/sore through sucks ass.

Damn! That sucks.
Trying to get my family to understand this has been a bloody nightmare. They've all had it, ALL of them. But not me. Why? Because I stay away if I'm not feeling well or any of them aren't feeling well. And what do I get for that? Endless hell about "not wanting to see them" or some other nonsense.
I hope you're better soon!

Just got over my COVID bout. Trip through DFW, 5 hours on a plane and a conference in Houston were the culprits. 5 day regimen of Paxlovid knocked out the worst of it, but one of the side effects is it feels like you licked a rusty pipe (strong metal taste for 5-6 days). Paxlovid is contra indicated with just about every other drug in the world, so you have to stop taking pretty much everything for a week or so.

Worst part of Covid (aside from the chills, the fever, the sweats, and the inability to tolerate cold temperatures) was the God-awful SMELL that got stuck in my head for over a month and made it either impossible to eat at all (because everything smelled and tasted contaminated) or to keep anything down if I did manage to get something into me (because of the vomiting and diarrhea). Not the sickest I've ever been, but it was a real close second.

Oh fuck, Davo! Not again!
It sucks a lot, especially considering your family was sick with it and didn't tell you. I'm so sorry to hear you have to go through this shit AGAIN, especially after last time. Feel better my friend and get well soon.

Not being able to smell or taste sucks. The plus side is I'm drinking lots of water instead of soda and I might get my summer body out of this yet. lol

Good luck Davo, and best of wishes.
So far I've avoided all the strains. I'm sorta like Charlton Heston in The Omega Man in that way. Keeping my fingers crossed and hopes up for all of us.
