Dicktator Vein Displacement not showing

This is very frustrating. I've worked with displacement maps many times so not sure what's going wrong here. I've got Dicktator Gen loaded on a G8M, mat copy, shell loaded. Shell parented to G8M. I load vein displacement maps to the shell. I've got SubD levels set to 3 on the G8M, the Dicktator Gen, AND in the SubD Displacement Level for the shell under Surfaces > Geometry. I then render the image (not relying on Nvidia Iray viewport mode) with good lighting and CANNOT see any vein displacement whatsoever, no matter which map I choose. I even closed down DS and re-opened because sometimes weird things happen with memory when you leave it open for too long. But still nothing.


What am I missing? Thanks in advance for your help.

Just discovered that the cutout opacity of ALL the surfaces of the geoshell are at 0.00. Is that normal? I assumed that the surfaces that needed to be affected by the geoshell would at least need to be above zero to be visible at all. I never touched these settings myself, so not sure why they are zero. When I turn the opacity UP on the shaft, the surface turns WHITE and I can now see the vein displacement clearly.

Huh?

Figured out my mistake! I have not been applying a texture preset after adding the geoshell. I mistakenly assumed that was an optional step if you wanted to do anything other than match the character's skin. IT IS NOT. Oops.
