Today I had my third post-operative examination after an operation on my left eye for glaucoma. My doctor made me look up and then down, down and then up repeatedly; sometimes pressing on the bottom of my eye, sometimes pressing an object that feels like a needle against the eye. I won't call the pain excruciating, just believe me that you don't want to get glaucoma. I must endure this, it is the price I must pay to save the sight in my left eye. At the moment, I read with a magnifying glass, listen to television, and console myself with a rather more expensive than customary bottle of red wine. Chianti, for a change of pace; I usually drink merlot.

Hang in there. One day at a time. I do have a stye on my upper left eyelid and it's going on 6 weeks now. I'm fed up of doing the hot compress. Sometimes it seems to be getting smaller, but then the next day it's like back again. At least I'm not in any pain, but I am experiencing dry eye.

Damn, sorry to hear about the eye problem. While I don't have any Chianti, I will raise a glass of Port to wishing you well.

Thanks so much. It really is a matter of one day at a time. Eyes, apparently, are as tricky as backs. Trick is. the computer screen is mighty blurred these days and, worse, the pressure won't stay down, and the things I like to do require better eyesight. I haven't tried making a render in months.

Thanks for the tea and sympathy. It really is appreciated. Port is an excellent choice in my humble opinion. I think I'll give it a try. As long as I'm moping, I may as well be sipping too.

Sorry to hear about your vision.  It's often said that aging is not for sissys.  Everything seems to fall apart at the same time and we realize how we squandered our youth.  Regards.

Well, there you have it. Old age isn't for sissies. But it isn't every sissy who has glaucoma. The cataracts were bad enough. The doctor has told me that most patients do no experience the pain I must take for granted. I have sensitive eyes! I deserve a break today! And tomorrow as well.

I'm sorry to hear that. Trouble with your eyes is scary, and I know it sucks now but I have every belief you'll get through it.

Thanks so much. Getting through it is what I intend to do, but cataracts and glaucoma make one feel old and more than a little helpless. I use eye drops and a plastic shield when I sleep. My doctors instruct me to do nothing strenuous; I cannot work. I can't see well enough to make renders. Sucks is right! But many thanks for the best wishes.  I do sincerely appreciate your kindness.
