I have been back a few days from my Holiday trip to see my brother in NJ. It was a fun trip, got to ride Amtrak on the way up and love it. Nice weather except for the rain and a little snow. Got back on the 4th and been busy getting settled back home. Yesterday and today are the first days that i could relax and check things out.
1) Got home to find my largest backup locked up and had to reformat it to fix it. Lost everything on it again. The biggest problem here in the Mountains, are all the little micro power surges that won't trip a power strip, but over time will fry a hard drive. I forgot to unplug it before we left. My Bad!
2) I turned 63 on the first and had a great birthday!
More good and bad news, but so far the new year looks great. So I hope that you all had a wonderful Holiday Season and a Very Happy New Year!

Jeezu... I know what you mean about mountain micro power surges. Do you also have to deal much with power outages caused by falling trees, mudslides, fires, or earthquakes. We finally gave up and purchased a permanent generator for such occasions. Didn't want to spend the money but we like living here too much to leave. There might be something wrong with us. ;-)
Its been years since I've been back east to the Connecticut and NJ areas. Used to have extended family back there. Hope your brother is doing well.
I'd be curious to read a little more about yor Amtrak travels.
