So I jumped online a couple of day ago to start putting things in my cart that I wanted to buy for Black Friday/Cyber Monday/Christmas sales. Initially, my cart came out to a whopping almost $3k.
I just logged in and noted how many sales were going on currently, and deducted everything from my cart that either 1) wasn't on sale or 2) was over $10.
After taking everything out, my cart total dropped to about $861.
After going through it a second time, I removed everything that wouldn't be used in the immediate future (within the next say 3 foreseeable months) Total dropped further to $400
Third time around, and I removed some more stuff. This stuff that I removed was after carefully reviewing it to see what it actually does, how many duplicate type products do I have in the cart (I initially had like 9 pose packs in there, and I reduced it to like 1.) Now my cost is only $262
Honestly, this is still super pricey for me, and I feel like there's a lot more that I could take out that I don't need but want. Gonna go tally up the cost at the other sites where I'm spending money and then see what happens.

Sadly I'm not going to be able to take advantage of any holiday sales, as I have a membership I need to renew and it will take most if not all my cash on hand. Sad part about it I was waiting to see if there might end up being a discount available, but alas the Mother Company decided not to do any discounts (Unless you live in Turkey that is, they get a 50% discount currently, the US and the rest of the World nada)
Probably better this way, it keeps me from spending on Content that I might never get around to installing much less using.

I didn't end up spending as much as I thought I would. The sales for today weren't as good as I thought they might be, but it's also not technically Black Friday or Cyber Monday yet. I know that during Spring Break, there were some ridiculously good sales going on. Sort of hoping to see similar sales today. In total, I only spent about $30 today, and am gonna wait till tomorrow and next week to see what happens with everything else.
On another note, I have considered getting the membership, but don't see enough benefits for it yet.

If you are referring to Daz+ it has it's benefits, but I usually wait until the Annual Membership is on sale, which happens two or three times a year. I got my last subscription for about $29 during the sales last month, along with a stacking deal, when I canceled the payment information through PayPal.
R's Prime membership is okay if you shop at R enough but even with it being around $25/year for me it's not worth it, I mean it is a freebie a month and coupon that I rarely use, the Prime pricing is nice, but again I don't shop at R enough to take advantage of Prime sales most of the time.
I was referring to XBox Live Gold membership. It looks like several stores have PS Plus or whatever Playstation's membership is called at half off, but it looks like Microsoft only approved sales on Live Gold 12 months for Turkey, my Gold Membership was due to expire on the 27th so it is either pay full price or let it lapse (Which if it lapses all the free XBox One games that were available as Games with Gold become unplayable until Gold membership is restored.)
I did grab a deal on a onn Powerbank when shopping for the Gold Membership, since Walmart was allowing access to some of their Black Friday Deals through their website early.

Ohhh, I was talking about the membership here. Although I do agree, the one on Daz is amazing, I just need to get my finances straight to where i wouldn't end up cancelling it every month. As far as games go though, I had my PS+ membership for a while (for GTA v AND PayDay 2 online) but then I hoped back into 3d stuff head first, and that took up any time that I might have had for gaming. The hope is to make my own games, one day, lol.

I keep forgetting about the membership here. I don't upload enough artwork or pay enough attention to the galleries here for Premier Advantage to be of any benefit.
I mainly just stroll through the forums and try to help when I can.

Black Friday deals are all but irresistible. I haven't a great income, so I should not be extravagant. Still, they will never be cheaper, and I want them. And if you're not good to yourself, who will be?

Thank God I haven't a scolding wife to remind me that Christmas is right around the corner and that money doesn't grow on trees. Or maybe that's exactly what I need.

Conflicted? I'd say so. Live long and render

I had a BUNCH of things I had wanted to pick up via the various online sales, but when the time came it just wasn't in the budget lol.
I DID manage one sale over at happywax (company that makes and sells scented wax and wax warmers, my oldest got me into it) they had a thing on weds for 30% off of most of their scents and also a buy one get one free deal, so I picked up 12 small bags of various wax and 4 half pound bags of the scents I use the most (bourbon and wood, bonfire, pepper & pine and mint choc chip)
Best part was both orders showed up Friday in record time!
I can say I was not really impressed with the various sales this year, as most started way early and were sold out long before the normal sale days (Weds/Mon)

Back at it again with them holiday sales! I'm just glad this one fell on a payweek. Last time I had to pay for a DR appointment (almost $450 out of pocket) and it screwed me for the sales that I wanted to hit up on.

I don't shop here as much as I did in the past so the membership is nothing for me atm.
I sell some pose packs here, because I enjoy making poses and I know that many people don't want to spend the time it needs to make them poses themselfes. I also added those Daz support files that make them show up in the smart content library, because I like that system and I'm sad that most products do not show up in there, if I shop outside of DAZ. So for my new stuff I want to set a good example and include these files. I don't know how many of you actualy use the Smart contend library but I use it. :-]
The money I get out of it after store shares and conversion rates from USD to €, I reinvest into new stuff to play around with usualy. But I won't just buy stuff that I don't need only because it looks good like i did in the past.
For the old Poser I had a massive and expensive library, full of stuff I never used. I don't want that to happen for DAZ Studio too so now I only buy things that I actualy need for a project. :-]
I also have not yet added any new pictres to the gallery, I hope I will get some time for it on my christmas holiday.

Sympathies Ebonix115, I get hooked on the sales but aside from the money there is a time cost and I have a lot of stuff I liked the look of that I now need to find time to make use of :-(

I do, and having the metadata included in the product is handy.
I did find 'Smart Content' a real pain in the ass to start with and could not understand why I could never find stuff but now I have more of an understanding I find it really useful to sort stuff by my own categories eg all hair, shoes, poses and so on by figure type etc. That way I don't have to depend on Filter by Context which is a real pain and can simply browse for stuff I have sorted into a structure that's much easier to navigate than the Content Library folders which vary by content type and vendor.
