I am new to all this but for some unknown reason  I've tried to install stuff I have got from this site to Daz but it isn't always showing up, am I doing something wrong here?

The first thing that comes to my mind is that maybe some products were packed in a folder named different than your Base Directory.
Let's say your Base Directory is DAZ 3D/Studio/My Library, but the vendor packed the product inside a folder named Content. So if you unzip it there, you end with DAZ 3D/Studio/My Library/Content, which is not what you have mapped.
The easiest way to make sure things will work is to navigate the Zip file to the group of actual product folders (data, Runtime, People, etc), copy and paste them in your Base Directory with the other similar folders. Then in DAZ Studio Content Library, right-click/Refresh.

First... Welcome to the dark side!

Yeah, installing stuff in Daz can be a bit tricky, and then finding it again the same... Now, I actually wrote a guide about this some time ago (even on this forum), maybe it can help you:

https://www.renderotica.com/community/forums.aspx?g=posts&t=247154&cmsg=0&cmsn=#post486429

I strongly suggest you use this method vs. just extracting everything in your Daz library because this way you'll always keep a good track of what is what.

However... the most obvious reason that I can think off....  'Smart content' pane vs. 'Content library' pane. Both are very important when using Daz Studio, even for official purchases from the Daz site itself, because not everything will show up automatically within the smart contents. This most certainly won't happen with Renderotica stuff.

So...  to give you a bit of an idea (and an example) here...

If I want to grab a Genesis 3 base figure (male) from my library using smart contents I'd go to: Figures -> People -> Male, and there I'll find an entry for Genesis 3 Male, the icon will even be marked as "Actor".

However, if I want to grab the same figure using my content library pane....  "Daz Studio Formats -> Daz 3D Library -> People -> Genesis 3 Male", and in that (physical) folder will I find my stuff. If I need more I'll have to collapse the folder and then I'll find separate sub-folders for things like "anatomy, characters, clothing, hair", and so on. Things which are completely separate in the smart content panel...

This is the key to finding your naughty goodies from Renderotica: use the content library pane. If you don't know how to open or access that: go to the Daz Studio Windows menu, hover over the 'Panes' section and find the content library in there. I'd suggest docking it on your screen somewhere.

A real example this time....  if you went over the store a bit you might have noticed that Loki (Renderotican artist) has released a new figure recently: "Violette (for G8F)". I so could not resist :-)

So if I want to add her to my scenes then this is where I'll find here: "Content library -> Daz Studio Formats -> Daz Renderotica * -> People -> Genesis 8 Female -> Characters -> 3DLoki -> VioletteG8F".

Of course eventually I'll just include her in my smarts contents so that I'll be able to find her amongst the other models, but that's a different story :)

Hope this can help you out!

* I use a separate section for all my naughty stuff, for more info see the guide I linked to above.

(edit)

Almost forgot: Also make sure that the archive you got actually follows the proper hierarchy. Sometimes you'll get an archive which starts with the "My Library" folder and the rest is in there, if you extract that to your Daz library folder then there's no way Daz will be able to find your stuff. Instead extract the contents of "My Library".
