Got my new computer today.  It's a light weight compared to some of my older computer, but it works, it's stable and it's really Nice!!

It's a HP and I got it at Walmart.  I know, but that the only place near me that I could get a new computer.  It also was in my price range and I didn't have to wait for it.  Actually, when I check online, this HP was as good as anything that I could find online and it was almost $100 cheaper than anything comparable online.  Plus I didn't have to pay shipping....

Anyway, I am in the process of trying to get everything downloaded once more.  I got DAZ Studio loaded, got to get all my files downloaded again.

We are also in the process of doing some major remodeling to our condo and I am not sure exactly how much time I am going to have over the next couple of weeks to do anything on my new computer.  Anyway, I should start doing some rendering in the next few days or so, depending on how everything settle down around here!!

Congratulations on the new machine. I used to use an HP computer with an upgraded graphics card for Poser. That was years ago, though. Did you upgrade the graphics card, or do you plan on it? DAZ can use the CPU to render Iray, but it's pretty slow. I don't play with 3Delight, so I can't comment on that.

If you're going to get a new card, take a look at the GeForce GTX 680. They can be had for around $500, and they do a decent job of rendering in Iray. It's not the fastest, but it will be faster than tasking your CPU with the job.

What are the specs on your new machine?

Nothing is quite as fun as opening up a new PC   HP makes some nice modest sets

I know the Costco .com site always has a an HP in their library of products Most come with a SSD card now for the OS to rest in place and that means quick start up time.  At the time my spouses PC crapped out all I could get was a lenovo  but id hsd s 528 SSD card and a 1 TB HD and modest graphics, Shipping was free and it was $100 off

She is happy and than means I am happy especially as we were able to save her Word docs from the old HD

Have fun

Where you get it is never quite so important as what you get. At the right price, I'd take a well-tuned HP from Toys 'R' Us or Michael's or Victoria's Secret. Have fun.

Still trying to fit in time to finish setting up the Computer, but things around here are still crazy with remodeling, doctor's appointments and etc. Finding a couple of hours uninterrupted are rare until things settle down!
It's nice to be back and looking forward to get rendering again!!!!
