Hi all! I decided now to stop lurking and write my first post here. Maybe this helps me to advance in my hobby.

I begun to study Daz couple years ago. My first intention was to make graphic novels but soon I saw that I have very much new things to learn and when I learn one thing there is dozens of new things to learn. Also I am lacking perseverance - I should be patient enough to write a story, design how to illustrate, make characters and scenes and render. Usually I just began to write the story but before I finished, I ended up to make some miscellaneous renders from the scene and got nothing finsihed.

Now I thought that maybe I take different approach and start to make single/couple renders to miscellaneous scene and same time try to learn more about Daz. But what would be good forum to publish my work and maybe get some tips and feedback? I browsed Rendererotica gallery but most of the pics get very few comments...

Or how have others begin their 3D journey?

greetings and welcome to your new hobby of trying to get a 3D story off the ground

There are a couple ways to approach this but first you must become comfortable with getting your figures  prepped ,  Hair, Skin textures , Clothing (optional) and learning how to pose and use expressions.

As for a 3D comic  you will need roughly 50 pages,  But first you need to get some sample ready to you can send them off to store management and become a Vendor.

as I said a few ways to approach this.    Write a story and colaborate with a render artist to get a feel for what you will need to do when you tackle a project on your own.

Option two.  write a script and then do a visual only comic..  a picture says a thousand words right?  I think you need less pages for a visual only comic  but again check with store management.

Lastly... a full graphic novel..  for a 1st timer,  you will need a script.   then plenty of renders that mach your script, Plus a great Cover SHOT that will draw in prospective buyers Comic software,  I would go with Plasq's comic life for Windows and mac..  really well priced software, with spell checker,  and lots of comic styles to choose from.  then you need someone you know to proof your final work.  NEVER PROOF YOUR OWN WORK.    My wife does all the proof work and grammar changes, as she has a degree in English..  but even I double check her work.  She likes my stuff so much she tends to miss a few works,  But only a few

When you are ready ask the store management for the PDF form on how to submit.  it may look intimidatings but if you follow it to the letter you will be OK..  the hardest part is getting your images the right size and not going over the KB size and all samples should be JPG's  You will need a read-me Document..  Basically a slight synopsis of your store and tech data   How many pages,  Quality of the images  what format is the story and what someone needs to read it.

do not let these words deter you and of course your first project is always the hardest..

Since I use Poser and you are into DAZ  the how may be different but these words should still work.

if you are going to use clothes or lingerie.  create duplicates of your characters and store them in whatever library DAZ offers.  Create your figure nude,  wearing clothes and wearing lingerie. or underware..

Create all your scenes  your scenes . and save them so you can simply call them up,  add your characters, add your's poses and expression and then render.  If staying in the same scene for the next render, rotate the shot if needed, repose your characters and expressions and render.. .   If you think you will return to do mote renders with this setting,  save it and the characters but add a 01 to the name of the set

in time this will become very easy to do

collect your renders and before dropping them into the comic software   use a post work program for any clean up work.

now it's time to load your comic, add the speech bubbles and caption blocks,  and then edit it and submit

Yes it's will be harder than what I have pointed out here but if you have the fortitude, you will prevail.

I've only done about 120 comics at 2 sites so I know a little of what I have been talking aabout

BTW  the plasq software comes with a free trial.. but have some renders ready first.

Best of luck  shadoman
