Hey, so I'm a complete noob to 3D, with a Windows PC (actually, a Surface Book 2), and I want to make a game and short films with it.

Here's why I'm posting this.

Since I'm a noob (probably the reason, or maybe I'm just dumb as a box of rocks), I can't for the life of me figure out how I load these assets into my Daz3D Studio. I have downloaded them, kept them zipped and loaded them into my "My Daz3d Content Library" folder as stated by videos on youtube and directions here, but I still cannot get them to work. I have the Golden Palace genitalia, and I can see the Anus Spread morphs, and they work, but that's all I have after loading. The mesh never shows up on the model. Not only will it not show, I can't even find it in my Smart Content or Content Browser tabs within Daz3D. I've followed every screenshot and video I've seen to the letter for loading outside content into Daz3D, and even one I found where a guy shows how to load Daz3D Store content manually, but the meshes I've purchased from Renderotica just DO NOT show up.

Would anyone have time to screenshot the process from Download to actually seeing the meshes in the Viewport so I can physically see where I'm messing up? I'll do the same for my process in the reply section soon, I'm just at work right now (work from home) and don't have a lot of time to screenshot and post. I'm asking SPECIFICALLY for screenshots of the process, because it helps me to SEE what I need to do rather than guess at text.

Thank you to anyone who can help.

Did you say that you kept the content zipped when you dropped it into My Daz 3D Library? If you did, nothing will work.

Take a look at this thread: https://www.renderotica.com/community/forums.aspx?g=posts&t=218553&cmsg=0&cmsn=

I created that tutorial just for this kind of situation.

I Just tried it that way, too... Either I'm really dumb, or it's not loading them in where they should go. This time, I unzipped the file, dragged the subsequent files to the MyDaz3DLibrary folder (making sure it didn't go into any of the other folders), and I see where it inserted them, but I still only see the morphs. I don't see any meshes at all. I refreshed, I restarted Daz... Nothing. I see that they're in their respective folders just as you said they would be in your tutorial, but they just won't load. I don't get it. I have the morphs... I don't have any meshes.

It sounds like the base directory is not set.

In DAZ Studio:

In the Content Library tab, right click in "DAZ Studio formats" and select "Add a Base Directory". Now navigate and select the folder where you unzipped your files.

@KUROJIN2

It sounds like you need to completely delete your library and start again.

Sorry I am not going to give you screen shots like you asked but here is what you need to do.

Delete your Library.

Then Create a directory titled: My Daz 3D Library

1. Make sure you install it in/on a drive that has sufficient storage space as this will will get huge.

2. Make a note to yourself where this directory is. I personally have an entire 1 TB SSD dedicated to mine and this is my My Daz 3D Library SSD drive.

3. Then copy the direct path/address for this My Daz 3D Library and put it as the default install drive in DAZ Install Manager (DIM and sorry I don't use their other installation methods so cannot help with those).

4. Install all the main files in DIM starting with any 'Starter Essentials' kits but for the most part install any/everything you have purchased from DAZ into the My DAZ 3D Library and let it go. This might take a while, depending on how much needs to be downloaded and installed.

5. Install any manual install files from this site or any others, including the other 'R' site rendo as some call it, and also install any Golden Palace, Dicktator, New Gens or whatever you have bought this way too.

    a. Make sure all files are unzipped and make sure you copy all unzipped files into the My Daz 3D Library.

    b. make sure also that you copy the individual folders, keep opening them until you seem them as thus: data, runtime, people etc. DO NOT go further then this. Copy each and all like this, when you see the one called data, and runtime, you have it right, copy and paste these directly into the            My DAZ 3D Library (open the My DAZ 3D Library until you see the same titled folders but don't go further, when you see 'Runtime' you are in the right place!)

6. Do as Hellboy instructed and navigate to this new My Daz 3D Library you have now created.

     a. If you want to use the 'Smart Content' tab then you have to install the SQL files in DIM, do this last. I NEVER use the Smart Content tab, it just doesnt work for ma and I am used to just going into the Content Library tab, because of this I cannot help much with the Smart Content tab.

I hope this helps.
